I started my crypto journey around the first quarter of 2017. Unlike most people, I came into this sphere as a content creator. I had heard about bitcoin and litecoin before my involvement in crypto but didn't know how to get in. I was still in uni, I didn't have a huge capital to invest in this supposed internet magic money, so I didn't get it much. However, I came around a friend who introduced steem to be--a platform where I could earn cryptocurrency for my content. I remember asking how possible it was to convert this supposed money into my local currency and he gave me a brief explanation I didn't understand much. I just knew, based on his explanation, that it was possible. So I joined.

I earned nothing in my first few months on the platform which was quite discouraging but I kept pushing until I made my first dollar. It was the very first time I got paid for creating content. I used to write on my WordPress blog for free and never did it cross my mind that I could make money writing poems and short stories (I don't do that anymore).

It's been roughly 3years, and I could say I have earned roughly around $4000-$5000, including earnings from my blog posts and airdrops. It is worthy of note that I came into this sphere with nothing. No monetary investment, just my time and effort. This is a big deal because it helps to demystify cryptocurrency. Vitalik Buterin, the founder of ethereum blockchain, used to earn about 5bitcoin for creating articles. Most people got into crypto without having to invest so much and that opportunity still exists till today. Leofinance is offering content creators that opportunity to earn creating financial content and engaging with a community of crypto enthusiasts which doesn't only profit them financially but helps in their understanding and appreciation of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. It is that simple.

The luxury of being able to work a few hours each day creating content has afforded me the creative freedom I need to explore other interests. I am currently an aspiring web developer. This wouldn't be possible if I was stuck in a job I hated. I earn roughly between $50-$200 creating content. That might not sound like a lot living in a country where the minimum wage is less than $100 it does a lot to keep one afloat. Plus I do have the opportunity of earning crypto doing other fun stuff like playing splinterlands and curating content I like. The crypto sphere is designed in such a way that caters to your every need and you're rewarded for it. Plus, what's worth 50 dollars today might turn into $5000. So most people, like myself play the long term game--holding some of the cryptos we earn and hoping it appreciates. FYI, bitcoin was once sold for less than a dollar. Currently, it is above $19,000.

I wouldn't change anything about my crypto journey. I was fortunate to have found the right platform for myself and I leveraged my skills to build a nice portfolio for myself. Crypto is a gift that keeps on giving.
