Marketing is an important part of any project. For your product or service to reach its desired customer, there is a need to structure a proper marketing plan to gain attention and patronage. This is an onerous task and for a project like hive there is never a one-size-fits-all strategy.

I am in support of using a hunk of the development funds on marketing. We cannot rely on the pump and dump scheme of a certain group to move our project forward. I don’t think that will be sufficient in the long run.

DAPPS MUST STEP UP!

I am tired of seeing new projects and communities fighting over the shrinking number of active users on hive. It is counterintuitive. They need to broaden their scope and not get fixated on token price. Most of what we build here are social dapps and require humans usage.

There are so many projects on the hive blockchains. Some go unnoticed. It is overwhelmingly surprising the level of disregard for proper marketing. There is little or no attempt to promote their project outside hive.

Now i know many have different ideas as regards how we should go about our marketing. However, I do not feel it should be left for the top alone to handle.

We are a decentralized network and so our marketing should be decentralized. Every project here should be actively marketing their services, dapps, etc to a wider market, forming proper partnerships and collaborations.

Do you have a new project? Beautiful! What's your marketing strategy? How does your team plan to leverage the hive blockchain and as well bring value from outside?

I believe if every community or project is actively promoting their project within and outside the hive ecosystem it will have a positive impact on hive as well.

Leofinance and splinterlands are doing good in this department. They've grown their projects and linked them to other projects/blockchain. The hive community can attest to the value these projects have brought to the ecosystem.

WORD OF MOUTH

This is one of the viable ways to grow the hive ecosystem but i do not think it is been explored properly. If we remove the shilling on twitter--to ourselves, there isn’t much word going out there, to be honest.

How many people have you onboarded from your personal? I believe if we all invited people we know--at least one every four months--we have a larger number of people here by the end of the year.

Like I said earlier I am open to trying different things. There is no rule saying we cannot have multiple marketing strategies and campaigns. As long as it keeps the buzz going. Also, I will also like to see dapp/community orientated marketing. I believe this would support the existing effort to push hive to the mainstream.
