If you are anything like me, you will sometimes need to trade on Binance smart chain. Most people would immediately go to pancakeswap, as that is the uniswap of BSC.

I thought it might be useful to compare fees on a few popular decentralized exchanges on BSC, as some of the newer exchanges provide rebates of fees in their own coins, which reduces the cost considerably for exchanging on the other platforms. However for large trades nothing beats the liquidity of PCS, so be careful using the smaller providers with large trades as you may move the market price.

Pancake Swap

Fees - 0.25% Fee Rebate - 0.0% Net Fee - 0.25%

Fee Usage

0.17% to LP holders 0.05% to burn cake 0.03% to Treasure (i.e. PCS team revenue)

Autoshark

Fees - 0.30% Fee Rebate - 0.15% Net Fee - 0.15%

Fee Usage

0.1% to LP holders 0.2% to Burn Fins and provide BNB dividends to FIN holders

Biswap

Fees - 0.10% Fee Rebate - 0.09% (this is described as upto, and may vary for some coin combos) Net Fee - 0.01%

Fee Usage

0.05% to LP holders 0.05% to Treasury (i.e. BiSwap team revenue)

Apeswap

Fees - 0.20% Fee Rebate - 0.0%
Net Fee - 0.2%

Fee Usage

0.15% to LP holders 0.03% to Buy back and burn banana 0.02% Treasury (i.e. ApeSwap team revenue)

Babyswap

Fees - 0.30% Fee Rebate - rebate available amount not disclosed (comment if you know)
Net Fee - 0.2%

Fee Usage

0.15% to LP holders 0.1% to Buy back and burn programs 0.05% Treasury (i.e. babyswap team revenue)

CUB linkage

A few AMAs ago, Khal mentioned that CUB was planning on building a DEX aggregator on the CUB defi page, and this will find the cheapest trade. I'm not sure what they plan on doing with the trading rewards, but I can envisage a future where those rewards are either provided back to the trader (maybe in CUB instead) or distributed to CUB kingdom holders. I guess we will have to wait and see how this progresses.

Conclusion

As you can see by the fees, after considering rebates there are some cheaper options than pancakeswap. If you need to trade some coins, then you really should look into some of the other providers like Biswap and autoshark who provide Fee rebates in their own coins. Small trades won't matter because the gas fees won't be worth claiming the fee rebates, but large trades or lots of small trades might be worth considering.

Comment below if you use another platform to trade, I would be interested to know about other good DEXes on BSC.
