So I have an admission to make, I am addicted to blockchain gaming. What attracts me to blockchain gaming? well its the gameplay, the fun of playing the games but then the small real world rewards you receive. So here is a list of the blockchain games I play and a small summary of each

Hive Games

Hive is a fantastic platform for games, it is fast and cheap, exactly what a game needs. The games I play are:

Splinterlands

This is my number one favourite game for gameplay, most blockchain games have a small amount of gameplay, with the main attraction being the crypto earned. But splinter lands has both, a fantastic game, that brings me back 25 years ago when I played Magic the Gathering (I wish I didn't throw out my original cards, they would be worth a mint now..)

Splinterlands is a trading card game, where you build up your deck, and then fight other components with it. Similar concept to Magic the Gathering. However there are lots of new things only achievable with blockchain technology. things I like are:

You earn Crypto for every match you win, currently I am in silver league, and I earn about $0.01 every match I win. You get free cards and rewards at the end of each season (about 2 weeks) You can build really powerful decks, by renting cards for a fraction of the amount you would win for winning the matches You can trade cards, speculate on future values you can lend out cards to your friends to hep them get started, I lent some cards to my son, and he hasn't invested any extar mone yap[art form the initial $10, and now he can make $0.003 each match he wins https://splinterlands.com/

Holy Bread

I have only just got back into the hive ecosystem, so I came across this by random chance. this game you build up your characters strength by doing quests and buying items, and then ultimately doing battles against other players. The highest ranked players will recevie an upvote for their post. you might even see a comment below this post with an upvote.

WAX Games

Wax is a great blockchain for gaming, it is an EOSIO blockchain, in many ways similar to Hive (but much closer to EOS). NFT trading cards have really taken off on this blockchain. The games I play are:

Alien Worlds

This game is set in the future where you mine planets for trillium (a crypto currency). In order to mine you need good tools, and the great thing about this game is you have a small chance at finding tools each mine. These tools are NFTs which you can sell in the wax marketplaces, or stake on rplanet (more on that later). At the moment with WAX prices pumping, I receive $1-$2 mining per day, and I only do it in my free time.

the WAX ecosystem has market places for selling your NFTs and also exchanges for changing your trillium for WAX. as this is an EOSIO blockchain there are bridges as well to move your wax to TELOS and EOS.

Kolobok

This is a unique game where you breed animals koloboks by matching parents together, each kolobok is an NFT. These koloboks then go on adventures earning objects or KBUCKs (a crypto currency). Careful on the adventures the koloboks can die too, so you need to have a good breeding pool otherwise you might find yourself needing to go to the market to find more breeders.

I love this game its cute and fun, but my main issue with the game is it takes up lots of ram because it uses simpleassets (as opposed to atomic assets) you don't need to concern yourself with ram if you are on hive, and that's lucky, but otherwise its a great game.

rplanet

this is a newish game, where you craft items, like alchemy style. I don't actually play this part of the game, but what I do is use the staking system. This is a great initiative where you can stake your NFT's form other games, or other collectibles like garbage pail kids cards. for staking your cards you earn AETHER, which you an buy items to use in the alchemy challenge. you can exchange your AETHER for wax using the exchanges.

This is a really cool addition to the wax ecosystem, as rplanet didn't create these NFTs but is rewarding people for staking them. It goes to show you that anyone can create use cases for NFTs.

You could even make a more complicated game, using other games NFTs, Imagine a game on wax where koloboks are fighting splinterlands cards? anything is possible..

EOS Games

EOS was where my blockchain gaming started with the wombat wallet. It probably had a head start in the games but is starting to fizzle out a little.

Crypto Dynasty

This game you build up characters much like holybread and then explore (march) for materials. the stronger your characters the more likely they are to find rarer materials (common, Rare, Master, Epic, Legendary, Super god). this game has its own currency in addition to EOS, and its called Three kingdoms Token (TKT). you need to buy this in order to unlock some gameplay, or you can slowly accumulate it through some tasks on the game. The good thing is though you earn a portion of the games profits depending upon how much TKT you stake.

EOS Racing

I used to love this game, you build up a car, and then race it, and depends on your place you win EOS. Unfortunately of late I feel like the devs have abandoned it and there are no more championship races to earn EOS

So that sums up my blockchain gaming, hopefully I won't spend too much time on these, be interested if you have found any good games I should try?
