Hello sweet friends, I hope you are all doing great? It is a beautiful weekend over here and people get more time to spend with friends and family members but with the current economic condition in my country, so many people still have to work for extra-long hours in order to sustain their families and the case is worse for new upcoming entrepreneurs who need to meet up with business demands and cannot afford to close business for a day or risk losing customers and most times those new entrepreneurs cannot even afford employing someone to manage the affairs of the business so they just need to work round the clock by themselves.

Just like a very big business, small businesses also have so many expenses to deal with and because so many small businesses are not conversant with record keeping, the business owners do not even realize on time how much they are spending on expenses on a regular basis.

In order to make profit out of a business, it is very necessary to learn how to cut down on expenses, expenses will keep coming up in business but it is the duty of the business owner to learn the habit of cutting down expenses in a way that the profit of the business will not be completely spent on meeting expenses.

Steps to cut down expenses.

It is difficult to get rid of something you are not aware of, if expenses is to be reduced, the first way to make that happen will be to identify the available expenses, and listing out the things you regularly spend on is how you will understand where exactly your funds are going into.

After you list out the things that take funds away from your business, you need to separate the very important necessities from the less important ones, I understand that you need to make your business appear perfect but there are still necessities that can be ignored until when you can conveniently afford it.

Paying high salaries is one of the great mistakes new entrepreneurs easily make, every employee must be able to prove the worth for the salary they earn and if any employee is paid more than their worth then that is an extra expense and in a department that a single person can conveniently handle when you choose to employ two or more people, that is a total waste of resources as well.

When I first started my business I was really concerned about the convenience of my staff that I totally ignored the profit on my business, a section where one person could conveniently handle I choose two people to run and I was literarily using all the profits earned to pay their salaries, I was almost running at a complete loss before I even realized. Cutting down expenses and being able to maximize profit should be the drive behind every entrepreneur, this will cause growth and regular productivity with the business.
