When was the last time you saw crypto logos on a taxi?

@tarazkp wrote a post today where he mentioned me and my wife @laputis going on a crypto date - basically using my Wirex Visa card to buy us some coffee and cake (this Visa card has been replaced by their new Mastercard recently). This got me thinking about the value of exposing my wife to crypto this way.

Sure, she is on Hive and writes Actifit posts daily but when it comes to valuing the tokens her posts earn (HIVE, AFIT, SPORTS etc. she is not really thinking about it. She never checked Hive-Engine. She just likes to recap her yesterday's activities first thing in the morning. Sort of like a short online diary.

But yesterday she did mention to me perhaps she should buy some Bitcoin... Wow! I never expected her to say that, especially knowing that she is a down-to-earth person who values things that she can see and touch with her own hands.

After I read her @tarazkp mentioning our crypto dates, she recollected that the flip in her mind about crypto came a few years back when we went to London to play a recital at St Paul's cathedral. We then saw a taxi with a banner decorated with logos of top 10 cryptos (BTC, ETH, XRP, XLM, and a few others). No HIVE or LEO or CUB yet (sigh...)

It was kind of a big deal. To see a sign of a recognisable crypto brand on the car as an advertisement. They might have advertised some online exchange... I don't really remember what it was now.

Fast forward to yesterday and now she is thinking about buying BTC. It doesn't mean she will buy it just yet. I'm sure it's still would be a scary investment to her. But at least crypto has already found some place in her mind.

This is nice. Whether it's a taxi sign with crypto banner or crypto card with which you could pay for some tangible things, it shows some degree of social proof and the level of mass adoption.

So far it has been only @laputis I bought coffee with the crypto card. Next time I decide to have coffee with a co-worker or a friend, I'll make sure I'll pay with crypto card too. Let them see that crypto is real. Let them see that my words and recommendations that they should come to Hive and start earning crypto for their content are not only words but they have manifested into tangible things, like this Wirex card and coffee. Only this way early adopters can make early or late majority feel safe about this new technology.

What was the flip in your mind that crypto is real and not some magical internet money which carries no value in real world?
