“Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives.” –James Madison

Just like every other Sunday, after service, I briefly speak with my friend before I leave the church. As usual, we were talking about new opportunities, information, and matters that could help us or are arising.

I went further to tell my friend about a beautiful platform I have been hooked on for a few months and how it is tested and trusted to be the **“It platform”*. I encouraged her to join as she has so many talents and she would fit in just perfectly in diverse communities across the platform.

Plus she is such a financially savvy individual and we could appreciate the presence of such a gem in the Leofinance community.

The Ignorance of Humans

She looked super intrigued and excited about this new opportunity. As we were discussing plans to get her registered on the platform, an older guy who I would say looks like he is in his late ‘50s was eavesdropping on our discussion and immediately interrupted from behind us.

The next sentences that came out of his mouth clearly screamed fear and ignorance. He proceeded to state that “Crypto is of the devil”, “We are selling our souls because of money”, “They have finally gotten to us”, “Children of nowadays are joining anything for money” and so forth.

He said a lot of gibberish and due to respect for elders, I let him finish. At this point, I was practicing selective hearing. I had muted his voice in my head and just sat there with my eyes wide open.

I mean what really happened to this man? Who did this to him? Is his ignorance his own doing? How can someone in this time still think this way?

I was in utter shock, I felt a rush of emotions, and I was left plagued with so many questions. I did not know what to say or how to react.

Education is Key

Finally, I decided to educate this man. I politely and respectfully explained to him that these notions he holds about crypto are untrue and totally wrong. I made him understand that the government fights anything they cannot control, regulate or monitor because of their selfish interest.

I paid no mind to the fact that he was older than I am in age but clearly he lacked the knowledge I possessed on this matter. I gave him instances of the government promoting anti-crypto news and using the banks to witch-hunt individuals that use their accounts to transparently trade or carry out crypto-related transactions.

I made him understand that times have changed and the technological age is here to stay. It is no longer business as usual and this has also indeed impacted even the financial means of exchange in the world today.

I told him the best way to further change these notions is to beware of false knowledge and information as this is more dangerous than ignorance. I suggested certain credible crypto sites, urged him to take out time, and read more information on this technology.

I encouraged him that his fear of crypto stems from a lack of knowledge and once he arms himself with the right knowledge it drives those fears out.

My HIVE & LEO Story

I proceeded to share my own success story as this is my testimony. There is no better convincing than to show evidence that indeed, something truly works.

The fact that I have benefitted from the financial liberation crypto gives is enough to convince even the blind that crypto is worth giving a shot.

I did not mind showing him my Hive and Leo wallet. I showed him the content I have posted over time, how I gradually grew and still growing, and the reward that came with the consistency.

I also showed him how much I have withdrawn from the platform, and how I converted my crypto earnings to fiat currency and used it to solve real-life problems.

The Great Potentials of CUB & POLYCUB

I further chipped in that other great projects are coming up. A few that launched and have been there that are worth exploring include the Cub and Polycub tokens.

I explained that he could farm them or buy them and just HODL for as long as he chooses. I urged him to do his research and at the right time when he has equipped himself with more than enough knowledge about the market, he can even explore more lucrative tokens.

The amazing yet surprising thing about this was that he quietly listened throughout this conversation. We immediately left after I was done but I felt a sigh of relief knowing that I enlightened someone a little bit about crypto and its importance.
