A whole lot of possibilities

If there is one thing that bothers me about Hive, is that you can only earn on your posts in a 7 day window. After that your post is on the blockchain but can't bring you in any rewards anymore. Unlike posting video's on YouTube for instance, every view, even one of a video that is 10 years old, can be monetized. So, this brought me to another form of passive income, that is getting more and more popular these days. Putting your own photo's on platforms in order to get an income from them as stock photo's.

I knew it was possible a few years ago, through dreamstime, 123f, etc... but it was a whole ordeal to get accepted there, and especially to get your pictures sold. But since a few years, there is a huge offer of apps that make it possible to upload your photographs via your phone, yes, even pictures taken with smartphones are accepted. And if the quality is good, you get royalties for the sales these pictures deliver. I find it a great concept, as pictures are kind of timeless, and can bring you an income almost forever.

FOAP

So since yesterday, I am a member of FOAP, and app that is accessible via iOS and Android, and is very user friendly to upload your photo's. So my first pictures are up there now, and I am very curious of how this will turn out. As your portfolio grows, the chances of getting sales get bigger and bigger, so, now it is time to build up my portfolio and get a decent stack of photographs up there. The split is quite simple, 50 % of the revenue goes to the app, and 50 % to you. Which is definitely not bad, as platforms like dreamstime usually take a bigger stake of the revenue.

And FOAP is definitely not the only app out there, there is ClickaSnap, Snapwire, 500px,... the list is endless. But I use FOAP because of the very user friendly interface and it is very easy to upload photographs.

You can find me at FOAP under the same name as here, Pele23!

Sincerely,
