AI Talk and 3rd PUM Badge! .:. March 1st HivePUD
I was following a couple of "hot" discussions about AI (Artificial Intelligence) here on HIVE and found some comments very surprising about how people perceive it... One is for sure, the same as we can't stop blockchain technology, in the same way, AI developments can't be stopped... That's the fact... But, as AI is a very delicate topic, I think that we should be very cautious before we give "full control" to it... Maybe I'm influenced too much by the bad endings of SciFi movies with AI, but they are faster learners than humans...
As ChatGPT has grown immensely in just a month or so, we had a chance to see how it works from the first lines... People began to publish posts generated by AI... While some people found that acceptable, this time, I'm on the other side of the table and I don't accept that at all... There were comments where people were explaining that AI is just another "tool" to make our lives easier... I agree with that, but it's NOT always the case... It's not the same when a robot is doing some highly dangerous job (deactivating a bomb), or when he is replacing a human's job of writing a post... Why?
For example, if we agree that if you copy/paste some post from the other website (plagiarism), present it like yours, and take rewards for doing it isn't OK, isn't the same thing if your job does AI? The post isn't written by you in both cases and you take credit for doing it? Yes, maybe there is some value in the post, but there is ZERO your personal "touch" in it... I don't know about others, but I'm here on THIS blockchain exactly because of that... Because of that "personal touch" where I can engage with others and exchange experiences, discuss...
AI doesn't have a brain or heart... yet... And HIVE is made of people and communities with a lot of heart... It's a social network and if we allow AI posts, it will become a bots network...

I collected my 2nd PowerUpMonth (PUM) badge last month, and I was determined to collect another one in February... As it was a shorter month, it was "slightly easier" to do it, but I have almost missed 2-3 days! I'm not sure that I will be consistent with repeating it in March, but for now, I will enjoy my 3rd PUM badge!
So, what is #hivepud?
Just a short introduction to HivePUD... What does it mean at all? #hivepud is shortened for the Hive Power Up Day. It's an event when Hive members power up their liquid HIVE and stop any active PowerDown! It is organized by great fellow Hivians @streetstyle and @traciyork and is held every 1st day of a month.
