I have noticed it never seems to be constant - it's always changing & while we have the main goals in mind, there seems to be continual shifts in the focus or prioritizing.

This is a good point, and it makes all this more interesting... But, there is a catch... If we add things and forget the old goals then we aren't doing a good job... That's why I was sticking to old goals but added a couple of others on the way...

The point is to be stubborn and complete them all... I have partially failed, but I'm OK with that... :)
