Lately, I have bumped up a series of YT videos on this topic from the title... A guy would "storm" people with expensive cars, and clothes, and ask them a simple question: "What do you do for a living?"... Tbh., sometimes I also ask myself the same question when I see some 20yo guy driving the newest Porsche or a Hummer... Is it even possible that you can EARN that money in 2 years of your adult life? I know that usually, those are "daddy's sons", but still...

Anyways, I found this topic interesting and I would like to remind myself about my previous jobs in my life, and maybe you should share yours in the comment section of this post... It would be fun to see "our growth", or fall... lol... Anyways, I wasn't lucky to have a rich dad, so all that I have (or do not have) atm is what I have built with my 2 hands... Just to have a clear picture about the following, I'm a 44-year-old guy... ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Created in Canva.com

So, my "working adventure" began somewhere in my early 15-16ies... When the Internet came along, I built my first website which was about website design (I think), but not long after that, I build my website about Formula 1! I count that as a big turn in my life... As a continuation of that trajectory, I started to write for a car magazine in the auto-moto sports section... After that, as a part of the magazine, we got a short time in one car TV show!

In the next year or two, I rebuilt the website to cover not just Formula 1 news, but also MotoGP and WRC (World Rallye Championship)... Gathered a great team around the website from the forum that I have set up... That was probably my first "community building" experience in the 90ies... I have organized a few meetups where we would watch Formula 1 races in life and it was a lot of fun... Unfortunately, it looks that the whole project was in front of time as it was the first website in the region... We had no sponsors and it couldn't survive... But, I'm happy to see today many people from those days, behind the microphone on TV and radio stations, or writing for popular magazines and websites!

In the meantime, I built a few different websites that I was monetizing with Google Adsense... As that wasn't enough, during my "university days", I had to work another job at the same time... Actually, that was the first (and almost the last) job where I worked for someone else... One of my friends has opened a PC gaming club, where youngsters were playing Counter-Strike, Quake, Warcraft, etc in the LAN network environment... I didn't play FPS games before as I had headaches, but I had to do it there, and actually, I was fairly good in CS and Quake (I have tried Quake lately, and I sucked... lol...)... After a couple of months, I had to quit that job as I was working late at night, and I didn't have time for learning at all...

The next job was in the computer shop and service, where I was preparing and setting up new (and old) computers... This was my second, and last job where I was working for someone... The boss was a dick, and I didn't last too long in that place... ๐Ÿ˜‚ So I quit... At that moment, I went back to my hometown and opened my own PC Shop... After a year or two, I opened an additional PC Gaming club... All time I was changing these jobs, I was doing "online stuff"... Building websites and earning by selling ads, or links...

To "cope" with the growing market and globalization, with 2 small PC Shops, we have created a big company as there was no other way to survive... I'm talking about the years around 2008 when the crisis hit hard... In the background, I was building my web hosting business which was doing well... At some moment, my income from hosting was bigger than in my "main business"... After some time, or to be more exact in 2012, I moved to Spain with my family and began my "new life"... My hosting business allowed me that "privilege" as I could do it from any part of the world... I left my "physical" job and stepped out of the company...

The last 10 years were very bumpy, and I kept all my focus on online jobs... Firstly hosting, after that websites created for link sales, then forex trading... In 2013, I heard about Bitcoin and got some, but not that long after, sold it... ๐Ÿคฆโ€ In early 2017, I got back to crypto with ETH mining rigs, attended a couple of blockchain conferences, and here I am! Probably the longest "job" that I'm doing... 5 years and counting... Cryptosphere is a huge term, and it's hard to say in what exactly am I involved... lol...

HIVE is in first place at the moment, but it wasn't like that in 2017... I didn't even know about it then... Blockchain gaming didn't exist... Defi neither... Now, I'm in all that, plus many other things... I'm always trying to have at least Plan B, but many times, there are also Plan C, Plan D, etc. Currently, all my plans are around crypto, which worries me a bit... I plan to change that in the next bull run where I will try to diversify myself a bit more...

I have probably skipped some of my jobs, but these were (and are) the important ones that I had...

So, can I ask you a question? What do you do for a living?

Let's get back to the #myhivegoals and numbers for the last week... We are in the new month, so some of my monthly goals went "ungreen", but I will try to color them back... ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

As it was the 1st of the month 6 days ago, I participated in the #hivepud, which is the main reason for this bigger climb on the chart... I have done my 1K power-up, and grew my HivePower for 1.5K in total last week!

The goal that was green in October is my LEO Power goal... As I was exchanging my "spare tokens" to HIVE when I reached the goal, I didn't progress during that time... But, as we are in the new month, it's time to push this goal again until I reach it... Then, I will go all to HIVE until December... It worked well until now, and I hope it will work well in the future too!

Regarding my WORKERBEE goal, I did a small staking this week... Added another 50 tokens to my stake, and I'm now 200 WB tokens far from my yearly goal! The countdown has started and I hope I will get there by the end of the year... I don't like the current price, but there is plenty of time and I'm sure that I will grab some opportunity down the road... :)

I have a similar doubt regarding my BEE token goal... As I'm using the Hive-Engine trading bot which requires staked BEE tokens, I had to use them on a specific account... But, before doing that, I had another account with staked tokens, so I'm not sure how to calculate this goal... Maybe I should calculate totals for both accounts instead of counting just one? In the end, both accounts are mine, and tokens are on them also... Will see in the next report...

GAMING GOALS

As the RISING STAR token, STARBITS isn't doing very well, I have decided to use almost all my earnings for buying certain cards from the market... I'm not doing the Halloween special mission, but I do buy those cards from the market as I want to blend those animated cards! I have added 118 cards in the last 7 days, some from opening packs, some from buying cards directly from the market...

I have another, the last unstake of the SPS tokens in the Splinterlands game... As the price of the token went a bit down, my last unstake almost stayed "unnoticed" if you check my last week's stats... The drop was only 340 tokens... There will be another drop in the next report, but after that, I hope that numbers will go up! As I have most of the tokens inside the diesel pool, if the SPS price goes up, I could have fewer tokens... But, that would be good news... :)

It's time to update the numbers and put them into the spreadsheet until the next week! So, freshly updated numbers for #myhivegoals, on November 6th, 2022 are:
