Wild boar squeaker / piglet or like we in german say "frischling" which means freshling.

Apart from that the piglets are totally cute, wild boars are also very useful for the forest. Through the consistant rinsing the soil they increase the chance of survival and germination of seeds especially for annual plants. Thanks also to their droppings, the omnivores are also transporters and distributors of all kinds of seeds and thus also promote the biodiversity.

The photos were taken this week in the hochstein wildlife park in witten. Just wonderful how the little piglets enjoy the first rays of sunshine. The fur is so colorful and soft. When they're not sleeping they are totally playful.

But dont forget they are also dengerous. Sharp canines can cause deep wounds. Mostly, wild boars prefer evasion to an attack. Except in spring: when the brooks have young, they are aggressive. Wild boars give clear warning signals before an attack. A loud snort through the nose with a raised tail is the first. Then an immediate withdrawal is appropriate :-)
