There is much written on the Internet about how we can become profitable traders, you already know what I mean by this, that is, what I am talking about here is how we can live from trading and obtain economic wealth thanks to it, but ...

What exactly is a trader?

As I see it, a trader is a rare type of individual who prefers the solitude of analyzing graphs in order to make projections that allow it to make movements in the market that can give it profitability; and all of this in order not to live at the expense of anyone else, without depending on anyone, so as not to have bosses, schedules, or rush, or nonsense that the common person must face in the everyday world on a daily basis.

That's a trader's dreamy vision, but it's basically what traders are, and why are we so weird? Is it strange not wanting to have bosses, or schedules, and have the possibility of earning money beyond our crazy dreams if we become experts in what we do?

Since we live in the world culture based on old economic models from the old era of the industrial revolution, it's really weird. The good thing is that these new specimens, that we are the traders, we are multiplying more and more in what has become known as the new era of the industrial revolution; an era based on the massive dissemination of information and opportunities, thanks to the Internet and Web 3.0.

So yes, traders are unique, rare and special beings, but every day we will be more.

And how can we be profitable as traders?

And knowing all of this, it is normal that when we start trading we ask ourselves, how can we be profitable?

Because if you are someone who is trying to trade for the first time, and you have already made some attempts or trades, you will have realized that it is not something as easy as just putting yourself to the task, that is, because anyone can trade in the markets, but from there to making a profit and being profitable are two very different things.

Actually, from my own experience, I don't have the exact answer to this question, but what I do have are pieces of the exact answer; because being a successful trader is something truly complex, but what I have discovered is that a good trader has the following characteristics:

  1. It is studious: It studies books, patterns, theories, indicators, and all of them it tries to assimilate into its own arsenal of trading tactics and strategies.

  2. It is persevering: A good trader knows that success lies hidden in perseverance, and that only those who are persistent can obtain wealth through trading.

  3. It is an analytical observer and thoughtful: A good trader knows how to observe and analyze everything that happens in the market graphs and uses them to, through its reflections, project plans and carry out more effective movements in the markets. A successful trader knows that observing, analyzing and reflecting are two important elements of technical analysis and fundamental analysis, and these two analyzes are essential pieces to obtain great profits in the markets.

  4. It is flexible and creative: A profitable trader knows how to create strategies, it is basically an artist in its activity and knows how to create new strategies and systems as it progresses in its learning. A good trader has the flexibility to know how to adapt to the circumstances that arise at all times, no matter how adverse they seem.

  5. It is disciplined: A profitable trader always has a plan and a strategy at all times when it is trading, and this involves both the best and worst case scenarios, therefore, few things can take it by surprise. Furthermore, the successful trader knows that maintaining order and structure in what it does is part of its trading strengths.

  6. It is humble: A profitable trader is not afraid to admit that it has been wrong in its projections and therefore, it is not afraid to close trades at a loss, because it knows very well that it cannot win all the trades it makes, because there is no method or strategy. 100% infallible in trading, no matter how many gurus on the Internet pretend otherwise.

  7. It is not afraid of risk: Because it understands that trading means risk, therefore, it knows how to take risks in the markets, but from the perspective of always assuming calculated risks.

  8. Knows that learning never ends: The good trader understands that there is no system that allows it to get rich in two days, but that it must make a lot of effort to learn every day to be a better trader in the markets, that is, it does not believe or want get rich overnight, because it understands that only those who are constantly learning can achieve such a feat one day.

In summary:

Being profitable in trading is not as easy as many so-called gurus paint it on the internet, but it is not impossible either, a good trader is not born, it is made, because trading is an activity that requires preparation at many different levels: Intellectual , spiritual, emotional, personal, etc. Also requires a constant watching and analysis process.

The trader who knows what it is doing and what it is looking for, knows, as I said, that trading is not as easy as many paint it today; but it also knows very well that the effort of learning to become a better trader each day is well worth it, therefore, it strives each day to learn more and more about the activity; feeling fascinated by each new discovery and each new advance that it manages to make along the way.

Being profitable trader does not necessarily mean becoming a millionaire, so you have to understand that not every profitable trader becomes a millionaire, but every millionaire trader had to start its journey towards wealth by being profitable first.
