He is an innovator and much needed personality in the business world right now. Without his pushing the envelope I bet electric vehicles would be 10 years behind where they are right now. Tesla's success no matter how small at the start pushed the big companies to move more resources to this market.

The Boring Company's project in Las Vegas is going to move people around the convention center this year and from there plans are the entire strip. Considering the level of people who visit here, this technology will be seen by millions of people and demanded in other cities. It was the perfect place to showcase the tech at a convention center used to showcase innovation in almost every major field you can think of during conventions.

Once there is demand we will see even more innovation in boring companies and growth in a sector that pretty much hasn't had any attention. I'd love to see some more tunnels around cities like Chicago (where I'm from) with just people movers, or put all cars below ground. Either way it will allow people to move safely compared to the current situation in major cities where people are hit and killed on a regular basis.

Anyways yes he is creating his own monopoly, but he did it from the ground up while pushing new technology that can truly shape the world into a better place. Let him make his billions...I see zero issue with it. Side note, his billions are purely stock based and hypothetical anyways. If he sold his stock to cash in the price would tank and then you would see what he is really worth. This is the same with many Billionaires.
