Attending Webinar About Indonesia Stable Coin and Alternative Investment

This was my first time attending a webinar using Zoom. The webinar was held by pintu.co.id, a relatively new app for buying and selling crypto asset and convert it to Rupiah (Indonesian currency). The webinar theme was about: Bitcoin Investment: An Alternative during Recession

The webinar actually target beginners or people who just know about crypto currency. The hosts talked about the history of Bitcoin, and how it compared to traditional banking system in term of fee and transfer speed. They also talked about bitcoin or crypto currency trading and how it compared to forex and stock trading.

I myself have known about bitcoin since 2 years ago, but never actually went to study about it deeper. I even just knew about the category of crypto asset like what the hosts explained: the crypto coin used to store value, utility token and stable coin.

What is quite interesting for me is the Indonesian Rupiah Token or IDRT. It's a stable coin that pegged 1:1 to our Rupiah currency. IDRT is an ER-20 token that's available some exchange like binance or uniswap. With Pintu app, we can trade crypto assets to IDRT. IDRT is then can be withdrawn to our Indonesian bank into fiat currency: Rupiah.

On the other hand, I could just buy IDRT from Pintu, then deposit to crypto exchange (binance) and trade the IDRT token with other crypto asset. In the past, before IDRT was available, I had to buy crypto coin first, (like ETH or bitcoin) before I could trade in crypto exchange.
