Being a newbie on LeoFinance, the Hive blockchain can be really intimidating especially since the Hive blockchain is like a universe on it's own which cannot fully be understood in a few days, weeks or months. There are too many things to be understood such as the concept of Hive and Hive power (HP), LEO and Leo power (LP), HBD, vote power, power up/down, Delegations, witnesses and lots more which I'm not very familiar with.

On joining Leofinance in April via research/self-discovery, I created an account and wrote my first/introductory post as prompted by @leogrowth in the article Leo Challenge - Your first post on Leo Finance | 500 USD for grabs!. It was a motivation/opportunity for me to write about finance based on my personal experience while highlighting my savings/financial goals and budgets in a few words, as I was initially sceptical about writing since I wasn't as crypto savvy compared to a majority of writers on this platform.

Fear of the unknown

Though I have written some crypto/finance related articles on some other platforms, yet the lions in this Den looked really scary. With all the show-off of technical knowledge in their crypto-savvy articles, I felt like a small fish among sharks so I had to run off* LeoFinance for a few months since I was doing things blindly and without a guide, before deciding to finally coming back a few days ago with the introduction of #leothreads.

I've been writing on some other crypto-social platform for about a year now which is as simple as write - get paid in your crypto wallet, and the rest is history without having to bother about the ecosystem and long run sustainability. Unlike here on LeoFinance/ the Hive blockchain where understanding everything each terminology matters for growth and proper utilization of the platform.

I stayed off LeoFinance for months while studying the concept of Hive, Hive Power up/down, LEO, delegations, author/curators rewards, witness, SPS, SPK, Larynx, CUB, Poly-Cub, and so on in incognito mode, and got a grasp of some of it within a short period of time. I still have a lot to learn but I got to understand that each step taken by the Hive Devs allows for sustainability of the platform and allows each user on the platform to build a sustainable finance provided they're willing to put in the necessary hard work and consistency.

Multiple frontends are so confusing

More confusing/complicated than those already mentioned above are the unending frontends which serves various purposes in the blockchain. Once I think I've seen it all, I'd come across a new one, and another, then I realised I've seen nothing yet. Some of the frontends I've come across are:

Leofinance.io, ecency.com, peakd.com, liketu.com, palnet.io - which surprisingly I discovered just yesterday. I used to think it was just a tag used to earn a token while writing but I'm surprised to see it's another world of its own! hive.blog, splintertalk.io, 3speak.tv,

and so on...

I know there are a lot more which I've not discovered yet, thus it's been difficult for me to wrap my head around all of it since it's a whole universe of unlimited information which cannot be grasped by a single mind.

#leothreads brought me back to Leofinance

The launch of threads really got me hyped-up and gave me the confidence to return since Threads allows us to share our thoughts via short posts without the need for technical knowledge. I considered it an opportunity to get into LeoFinance fully while interacting, engaging in a bid to and gain more recognition.

On launching of Threads, I decided to try out writing on LeoFinance once more by writing about #threads in my own way while also sharing the news with friends and family via the articles - THREAD- The Unlimited Possibilities!, while also doing a comparison between Threads, twitter and noise.cash on LeoThreads defeats Twitter and noise.cash #threads.

Writing about the launch of SPK token which can be obtained by delegating some Larynx in the article From LeoThreads #threads to SPK tokens! was also exciting.

I realised the Lions in the Den are not so deadly but are the friendliest people as I got encouraged via some upvotes which I found surprising. I wasn't expecting anything really since my writing isn't top-tier, but I feel encouraged to put in more time into research, the necessary hard work and consistency in order to utilize this platform effectively.

Limitation by RC (resource credits)

While reading several articles in a bid to understand things better, I was motivated by 'the weekly view on engagement using the leofinance.io interfaces' - LeoFinance Engagement, and decided to work on my interaction/engagement so I can also be among on the top engagers in a bid to gain more recognition as seen in below screenshot.

Unfortunately, I was faced by one more challenges, something in form of Resource credits (RC). My resource credit diminishes faster than it refills which means I'd only be able to publish an article, then wait for some time for a refill to occur. This is a major setback as I wouldn't be able to engage/interact as planned until I have enough Hive power (HP). Which is why I've decided to make my posts rewards a 100% HP for the next one or two month so my Threading experience wouldn't be limited by resource credits, insufficient Hive power.

Conclusion

I have been able to see that the Hive blockchain has several opportunities which I can take advantage of, unfortunately it's so difficult to wrap my head around that It's gets more complicated as I explore. I've come across several challenges and I'm simply hoping it gets easier as more time is spent. I look forward to getting more guidance and look forward to being among the top-tier engagers and users here on Leofinance.

I'm willing to do what it takes to move unto the next level and will be glad to be guided on all things I need to know regarding the world of LeoFinance and the Hive blockchain in general.
