My Thoughts On The Process Of Fully Embracing Cryptocurrencies And Blockchain
We all believe in the potential of cryptocurrencies, or blockchain technology in particular. The technological marvel that powers all this magical internet money we are so excited about. But that's just the potential. How much do we actually believe in crypto at the moment, in it's current state. How many are willing to take out all their bank money and save it all on various blockchains. I for one am certainly not there yet. This might be because of many reasons.
One the most important reasons I think is that cryptocurrency as a whole is still too volatile. A strong sense of stability is always required by those that value their financial freedom. So all risk and no stability seems like a pretty big gamble, not to mention irresponsible. Stable coins offer a solution to this reason though. People in crypto have already started trusting these stable coins to keep their earnings stable on the blockchain, instead of withdrawing to fiat directly. This is a very convenient process, especially for those in countries were banks suck a bit more than others.
I think the uncertainty that comes with crypto not being accepted everywhere yet, or by everyone, plays an important role in people not wanting to switch their main financial means to the decentralized space. Of course this is just a matter of time, and all we can really do is wait.
Very slowly I am moving towards fully embracing blockchain technology as my main financial source. And being aware of this is a step in the right direction.
