Hello guys, how are you all doing, I hope you are doing fine. This contest is something I wanted to do personally without involving or even knowing about the contest. But I have been postponing it because I felt I needed to be in the right state of mind to make a beautiful well valued post. But seeing the contest motivated me to disregard my laziness and do this. A wise man once told me, abundance flourishes in a grateful mind. So am making this post as a post of gratitude to Hive, the community and everyone that has encouraged me one way or the other.

So this Hive has done so much for me in 4 months than my educational certificate has done for me in my whole life. I’m not just talking about just the financial aspect, am talking about the versatility aspect of Hive. Hive is an educational Hub that teaches lots of things because this is a centre where people share and post about different things and you learn from them.

The Hive Encounter I joined Hive in May 2021 because I felt I had a lot of financial knowledge I wanted to share and I wasn’t satisfied with the one I knew, so I wanted to learn more. I’m not a computer programmer or a tech person, but I wanted to have a blog where I can blog and get paid. Although I joined steemit in 2018, but I quit it and forgot about it, so during my search for a platform I can blog and probably get paid for it, I didn’t remember there was steemit. I called a friend and we were talking, just joking around about life, and he told me that he just found a website where you get paid for reading and making a post and the name of that website was publishox. I joined publishox that day and started reading posts. I wasn’t allowed to make an author account, so the only way was to read other people’s post. Because I love cryptocurrency and am inquisitive towards it, I spent a lot of time there, then I stumbled upon Leofinance. A very nice fellow talked about Leofinance and how you can blog and earn on publishox. I joined but I had to have a Hive account. So I registered and my journey began from there. It was during my exploration on Hive I later found out that, Hive is now steemit I left 3 years ago. So this is just how I found Hive and am extremely grateful.

Lessons Gained Before Hive and Leofinance, I thought I knew everything there was to know regarding cryptocurrency, but when I joined Hive, I realized that my knowledge on cryptocurrency was just 5%. Wow!!! My first 2 months on Hive was filled with a lot of research. I was overwhelmed with lots of knowledge. I woke up everyday reading and learning and learning and reading. I found myself making good financial decisions, I found myself gaining financial knowledge that can never make me go broke in my life on cryptocurrency. I found myself becoming more happy and having great financial goals.

This was just in the finance aspect, now let’s look at the writing part. I know certainly that I wasn’t good with words when I was in school because I studied industrial chemistry. So I was used to mathematical solving, drawing chemical structures and defining chemistry terms. But right now am proud of myself in terms of writing. I’m not there yet in being one of the best authors on Hive based on writing skills, but am on the way, and am enjoying every second of my journey. I found out that I have fallen in love with writing, I don’t see writing as a job but I see it as a hobby that makes me happy.

The Financial Rewards I wouldn’t lie to you, the financial rewards that comes from author and curation rewards are extremely encouraging. But my first few weeks on Hive was not really based on that, because I dedicated those weeks to enjoying what I was doing. I was a young man that just quit his job because he felt undervalued where he worked. So I saw blogging as a way to ease the burden inside me and make me feel better, but Hive gave me two benefits instead, it helped ease the depressive feelings I was letting out through writing and gave me the opportunity to earn in the process. I was really surprised , I think that was what made me consistent in blogging every day.

Hive Will Teach You To Set Goals Hive thought me to have goals, set those goals and work towards achieving them. And after achieving them, celebrate them. This is the best lesson I have learnt on Hive. I see people post about their goals and I feel motivated. I see some people’s Hive power goals and their journey to achieving those goals and I feel I can do same and even better. This made me work hard towards my own goals and am proud to say that am 95% done in achieving my own goals.

Engagement I have been using social media for the past 9 years and I have never made a comment or try to be interactive on social media. I am one of those people you will call ghost users. I just come online, give some few likes and that’s the most interactive I will be on social media. I brought same attitude into Hive but I was advised by some Hive users not to do that. Engagement is the key to being a successful Hiver and that’s my goal.
