Imagine going to a vending machine, this time not for a can of soda or a bar of chocolate, but for an NFT. Cool right? That’s what NEON, a Solana NFT marketplace just developed. It’s vending machine is going to be in a place in Manhattan, where people can come and buy an NFT with fiat. The usual way of purchasing NFT we all know is using crypto to buy NFTs. This way a convenient method has been created to make it way easier for people to easily buy NFTs. But unfortunately buyers of NFTs won’t know what NFT they are purchasing till they buy it, so it gives this element of surprise. All you have to do is pay, scan a QR code that will lead you to the spot online where you can claim your NFT.
I really think it’s cool, having different options of purchasing NFTs. This is because, no matter how you view it, NFTs are not widely adopted or known yet. For you to understand NFTs enough to want to buy them, you will need to have some basic crypto ideas. But then, lots of people want to own an NFT but don’t want to go through the struggle of learning about crypto. So vending machine seemed like the best idea for the NEON market place. So you don’t have to own crypto to own an NFT, you can just go to the vending machine, pay with fiat and get your Solana NFT.
Just look at the vending machine as the physical version of minting. You know when minting an NFT, you have no idea what the blockchain has in store for you until you mint it. Well this is the physical version but in the form of vending machine. I guess when people know what is available to be minted, or rather available for purchase in the vending machine, some NFTs will probably be left un bought.
