How Crypto and Blockchain Technology has Impacted my Personal Finance

Before I talk about my crypto finance, I would like to share something about myself so that you guys know more about me. I am from a non-technical background and until I joined steem I had no knowledge about crypto and blockchain. I am from India and before joining steem in the year 2019 I only heard about bitcoin through news channels and they were sharing wrong information about it.
I joined steem in March 2019 and then only my journey with crypto started. That time I got to know that these cryptocurrencies are built on blockchain technology and this is highly advanced so it carries the information safely and in a transparent manner. I like trying new things but joining the crypto space was not easy for me. I was quite active on Facebook and used to share a lot of photos however I had never written any blog over there. I joined the steem community with the thought that it's also a social media like Facebook but after joining I realized that It's way different but better than Facebook. The way people used to share the content here was completely different and of course, here it was unique which never happen on Facebook.
The initial period was tough for me because I was going through a lot of posts daily and trying to learn as much as I can along with the regular work that is my main source of income. Managing family, kid, regular work along with this learning about crypto and blockchain was making things difficult for me at that time but I did not give up and I continued the same schedule for more than 3 months. After 3 months I got myself in a better position and started drafting more posts that helped me to earn a good amount of steem tokens.
Earning money was not the first priority for me and that's why I never powered down yet and holding all my earning over here. I made some friends and then it became part of my daily life to work with this awesome community every day. I also talked with some of my friends if they are interested to join this crypto world but because of poor media, they had some wrong mindset since the Indian govt has not yet cleared their stand about crypto and blockchain. My friends clearly refused to join because they did not want to be part of any mess or legal issues. It was because at that time govt has a banking ban in place many people were staying away from the crypto because of the ban.
I believe that every journey has its own fun provide the person never gives up and continues to keep on doing the same consistently. I made many friends here and they helped me a lot to learn and earn. When steem fork happened and Hive was born in March this year, I was one year old with this community and I was positive with this move as well.
I have been a traditional investor who put money mostly on Gold and silver and that too in the form of jewelry. You might say that this is not the right way to invest. I have grown seeing my mother doing the same so I also adopted the same way however I always wanted to do something different but was not aware. Along with gold, I was investing money in recurring deposits in banks because this was also the safest way.
Now in the year 2020, I changed my habit for the first time I invested my money in a crypto token and this token is HIVE. I created my account in one of the Indian exchanges and invested money through it on HIve tokens. I have done this in Nov month and here is the post for the same where I have shared my overall experience about it.

I also have over 7k HP that is part of my crypto finance.
I usually invest once or twice a year but this year because of covid I had an impact on my earning. I had no work for almost 6 months after the lockdown in march and now things have started getting better so I had some savings that I invested in Hive crypto coin. I am happy to share that now I have my investment portfolio in crypto along with traditional instrument life Gold and FD.
Crypto has changed the way I used to think about investment and this is why now I started investing in crypto. This is just the beginning because I am working here to build my future and building a future does not happen over the night. It takes time and I am happy to give it 5 years or more time. My crypto journey that was started last year with steem is now doing well with HIVE and It was a wonderful decision to join this awesome crypto platform.
These days when Bitcoin is booming then some of my friends have come to me to discuss about Hive and I have shown them my wallet that has more than 7k tokens. Whenever I look in my wallet, it reminds me of the time of March 2019 when I decided to join the platform and I feel so happy about it
During covid-19 lockdown I had no work because of lockdown but on Hive I worked and earned lots of Hive tokens that are part of my Hive Power and it's staked for my future building. Since I am not technical so could not use blockchain technology in my life but as far as crypto is concerned, it has certainly changed my life and my way of thinking.
Few points I want to share here-
- Crypto has changed my way of thinking about investment.
- I have started believing in long term investment plans and even started investing in this new age technology-based instrument.
- My parents are not aware of my Hive journey and I want to inform them when I earn 10k HP in my account.
- Earlier I wanted my friend to join so that I get a company here however now I think that they should join only when they feel like since I have already explained to them about crypto and Hive.
- After 1.5 years of my journey with this awesome community, Now I find myself in a better position where I know a lot about crypto and even can buy/sell crypto.
- I am very happy with my growth in the crypto space and I know that there is a lot to learn and I am at the right place to grab more of the knowledge.
- I joined the crypto space when people here were not ok to join and that was a very right decision.
