  1. MoviePass is shutting down and looking for a buyer - The MoviePass product surged in 2017, when it was purchased by its current owners, and the subscription price was reduced, but the company burned through hundreds of millions of dollars without finding a sustainable business model. Now, the company is faced with layoffs, and shutting down for an unknown, possibly permanent, time period. MoviePass, Moviefone and MoviePass Films are all up for sale by their current owner, Helios and Matheson.

  2. Russia’s Largest Bank Buys $15 Million in Debt Using Hyperledger Blockchain - Russia's largest bank, Sberbank, used hyperledger to purchase $15 million worth of accounts receivable from Singapore-based Trafigura. The deal was revealed last week, and it made use of Hyperledger's private collections feature in order to keep certain aspects of the transaction hidden.

  3. Carl Icahn’s Miami-bound hedge fund won’t give severance to employees who don’t want to move - Although Icahn attributed the move to Florida's warmer weather, it comes at a time when a wave of tax-refugees are fleeing from New York to Florida. The hedge fund will shutter its offices in NY on March 31, and reopen in Florida's Magic City on April 1. Icahn has offered salary and bonus guarantees to employees who move with the firm, but there is no severance for employees who choose not to move.

  4. McDonald’s Is Testing Out Plastic-Free Restaurants in Germany and Canada - Apparently, customers are happy with grass packaging and waffle cups, but the paper straws still leave room for improvement. The program started in Berlin, and is now expanding into stores in Ontario and British Columbia. The company plans to continue expanding as they learn what works and what doesn't.

  5. STEEM So, What's It Really Like to Be an Uber Driver? An Insider's Look - Describing her experience as an Uber partner, @chelsea88 says that you have to be on your "A game" to get good customer ratings and avoid carjackings, and you also need discipline, and "correct moral code". You also need to pass a background test and have "current auto insurance, a car less than 15 years old, current registration, current and unencumbered driver's license, car in good workable condition". She adds that you can be paid weekly, or per transaction (with a $0.50 fee), and that it's not a way to "get rich quick", but it is paying her bills.
