Splintershards (SPS) 2022 Roadmap

On 12/29/2021 the Splinterlands team announced their roadmap for the Splinterlands game governance token known as SPS. Information was also provided about Validator Nodes ("Witnesses" for the Splinterland games). In the same post it was also announced that once released 3M Riftwatchers booster packs will be available for sale, at a price of $5 USD per pack (payable only in SPS) with bonus packs available for purchases of 100+, 500+, and 2000+ packs in a single transaction. They also provide information about Land expansion and SPS airdrop details.

Second Pack Sale

On 11/30/2021 the Splinterlands team provides us with much information in regards to the sale of Chaos Legion Booster Packs. Mentions include; the Voucher system that was put in place, start date of General Sale 1.0, the expected start date of General Sale 2.0. It was also announced that going forward packs can only be purchased using in game Credits. Purchasing credits is a very simple and pain free process. Credit purchases are done on the official Splinterlands site with Paypal and Cryptocurrency options at your disposal.

Partnership with Zipmex!

The partnership will consist of multiple components, namely a staking pool (ZMT to SPS), physical arcade sponsorship in one of Thailand’s biggest malls, 50+ digital billboards around the city, and further items to come!

On Jan. 14th/2022 the Zipmex ZLaunch platform was given early access to earn some SPS governance tokens through locking ZMT in the ZLaunch pool. This partnership included Splinterlands Listing SPS On the Zipmex exchange.

General Sale + Airdrop Reveals!

On 01/15/2022 Splinterlands shares sneak peeks of the then upcoming Legendary airdrops that are provided for Chaos Legion Pack purchasers. At this point in time there was some serious concerns that Chaos Legion might sell out rather quickly so the Splinterlands team decided that all pack purchases that took place during the first 24 hours of general sale would count towards airdrop points for every remaining airdrop card available at the time. Lira the Dark and Iza the Fanged were the airdropped cards that we were given a sneak peek of.

General Sale Stats

(01/18/2022) The first 24 hours of the Chaos Legion general seen a total of 2,109,682 packs sold, 231,746 bonus packs awarded, 27,249 separate purchase transactions. The previous announced 24 hour window for pack purchases that qualified for the Iza The Fanged and Lira the Dark airdrop cards was extended a handful of hours. splinterlands included the third airdrop card Grum Flameblade in the extension.

Partnership with TeraBlock

The Splinterlands team is extremely excited to announce a new partnership with TeraBlock (https://terablock.com)! The primary goal of the partnership will be improving the DeFi gaming aspects of Splinterlands and the associated cryptocurrency tokens.

TeraBlock will be providing cross-chain bridging services for the Splintershards (SPS) and Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) tokens which will allow both of those tokens to be more easily and transparently swapped between different blockchain platforms where they can be traded and staked via various DeFi applications on those platforms.

Tournament Payouts To Date

Over Five Million USD (FIVE Million USD), Let me say that again FIVE MILLION USD has been won by Splinterland players across the globe who have participated in Splinterland Tournaments. While that is a massive number I suspect it won't take long for Splinterlands to supersede that amount. If this doesn't get you excited to play Splinterlands nothing will.

Town Hall Summary

The latest Town Hall (AMA) took place on January 28th, 2022. Team introductions, Dev Updates, Market updates, creative updates were some of the hot topics. Mobile app updates (Currently building a team to develop/enhance the mobile app), Chaos Legion Packs in chest rewards (25,000-30,000 is the estimate of the total that will likely be rewarded in reward chests). The Splinterlands product pipeline was also revealed (Ideation => Design => Product Management =>Asset Creation =>Development =>DevOps). It was mentioned that two factor identification won't be used with the Splinterlands app as the game is structured in such a way that such a security featured wouldn't provide any additional security.
