@penguinpablo's statistics from today indicate that in the last week, the number of posts (including comments) on Hive has exceeded the previous all-time high from April 2020 when the price of Hive spiked to its previous all-time high. The the daily number of posts on Hive is now between 22,000 and 24,000. Between last Christmas and New Year it reached an all-time bottom at 10,000. That's remarkable growth. What's also remarkable is that despite the steep correction from a local high of $1 to 55 cents, there has been no downturn in posting activity most likely due to an expectation of higher prices this year.

This is very interesting. What it means is that average rewards per post or comment in HIVE are going down. That's a mathematical fact. But that is compensated for by the higher price.

This is when those who remained active in the winter when there was a real winter in the price of HIVE and when the coin made a rounding bottom at 11 cents are rewarded. If they have powered up, the dollar value of their votes is suddenly much larger than it was in the beginning of the year. The gain in vote value is 10x!

There is an uncanny correlation between the price and posting activity. When the price goes up a lot of old users will come back and new users will join.

If/when the price will go up another 10x in this bull cycle, those who accumulated during the brutal bear market will be looking at a 50-100x gain in vote value. That's something to think about.
