Hive-Engine Withdrawal Fees... Better than losses from multiple swaps...?

I recently withdrew some SWAP.BNB from Hive-Engine to Binance Smart Chain and checked to see if swapping through a couple of other coins might be a cheaper way of getting my coin out rather than paying the 1% fee, but at time of withdrawing/ exchanging, this wasn't the case!

Withdrawing 0.88 BNB, for example, to keep the math simple, would cost you 0.08 BNB....

Not nice, so I tried (hypothetically) swapping that SWAP.BNB for DEC, and then DEC for BNB (moving DEC via Splinterlands to BSC is free, not the other way around!).

As you can see, doing that would have cost me even more because of the relative price differences, probably here I'm not swapping large enough amounts for slippage to have a significant impact.

This would have cost 0.0084 BNB - which, combined with the swap fee is pushing a 1.5% cost.

So, 1% is totally unreasonable, but it seems you just have to suck it up, there is no other option.

The moral of the story - when you move across chains aim to keep your funds there for as long as possible to minimise your relative fee cost!
