Why I'm glad I had all my EOS stolen...

Having reviewed EOS recently and concluded that it was a shitcoin that I wanted to get rid of, I logged into my EOS wallet to withdraw it and sell it.

However, some complete wanker had beaten me to it and withdrawn it to (probably) his wallet.

This must have had something to do with my installing Scatter recently and connecting it to my EOS accounts, it's the only thing I've done with EOS in the last three years!

Despite being irritated by the cunt who stole my EOS (A suitable punishment would be cutting off his fingers, entirely appropriate if you think about it) I'm lucky enough that the kind of sum that went missing wasn't that significant - basically equivalent to a day's worth of DEC and SPS earnings on Splinterlands, and on top of that the same day I received a BNB Rune/ BAT rebate for about the same sum that I'd totally forgotten about (I'd left some money staked on BEP, I honestly thought I'd withdrawn it all!).

Anyway, I say I'm glad, because this promoted me to up my security starting with connecting my Metamask account to my Trezor and moving my DEFI funds to that account.

It's very easy to do - and you get a new account that looks something like this:

!

You can still stake to any DEFI project on Binance Smart Chain and presumably ETH and the rest, you just need to use your Trezor to verify the TXs, so it needs to be connected while you do yer DEFI-ing.

I've always been a little uneasy having so much money (about 50 times what I lost with EOS) on Metamask with one TINY 12 word key phrase being the difference between that money being mine and, well, someone else's

Now I've got my Trezor protected account I feel much more secure - yes I have to agree every tx on the trezor, but the beauty is now no one can steal my funds from that address EVEN if they get my MetaMask seed phrase, and if they get my Trezor seed phrase they can't steal my MM funds either.

It was worth losing the EOS just for the security jolt!

An added bonus is that the extra hassle will make me use DEFI less often, so larger trades, I'll probably make up for lost EOS in saved BNB fees in a few months!

If you don't have your MetaMask account connected to your Trezor there are instructions here... through BSC.

Oh, and my knives also needed sharpening too, another bonus.
