Avalanche just isn't a great place to park yer stable coins!

It's been a couple of months now since I explored Avalanche for the first time, opting to stake some USDCe as a single asset on Benqi, for around an 8% APR.

I was really only looking to stake a single stable coin asset, rather than in a share of a liquidity pool as I just wanted something REALLY simple!

However, at the time I had a bit of a dig around to see if there were any decent stable coin pools on offer as I would have considered a stable-pool share for a return of over 15%, around 20 would have made it more or less a certainty!

NB the reason I'm looking to pool my Stables on Avalanche is that I just want to spread my assets around to different chains - I've already got enough on Hive, BSC and Polygon, not much in stables, but I've got enough on those chains, and I like to be diversified.

I don't use ETH because the fees make it dysfunctional for me.

Given that I'm now looking to park a few more stables outside of Hive/ BSC/ Polygon, I thought it would be expedient to see if Avalanche can offer me anything better than 8%, and the answer is no.

I actually trawled through the T10 Avalanche dapps on Defi Llama, and a few more to boot, and I could only find one appealing option which might tempt me away from the 8% single USDCe asset staking rewards I'm still getting on Benqi.....

1. Pangolin DEX - 15% APR

The best I could find from one of the 'reputable' DEFI operators was this USDC.e-DAI.e pool on Pangolin, which is OK at 15%....

I MIGHT switch my funds from Benqi at some point, I'll keep an eye on the returns here for a few weeks.

2 Synapse Protocol - 4 way stable pool for 15% APR

The second best option I found was this, on Synapse

BUT, a 4 way pool probably means heavier fees when withdrawing and I don't like USDT which is in this option, so this is a NO.

3. Trader Joe Returns are Naff...

A third well established project on Avalanche now seems to be offering really bad returns, I guess it's downhill now for Trader Joe?!?

And I couldn't find anything else that I trust with a decent return on stables!

Final Thoughts....

I'll keep the small amount of stables I've already got in AVAX, and in addition I will probably pool some additional stables to match the idle AVAX I've got, but I won't be adding more, not ATM, I think I'm going to add more into Anchor, in the form of UST.
