I spend A LOT of time 'dicking about on Hive' as I tend to put it, not my phrase, I picked it up from the most excellent @abh12345, who seems, although still active on the chain, to be spending a lot less time these days 'dicking about on Hive ' himself.

I've been wondering of late whether or not I should also spend a little bit LESS time on the chain, you know how it is if yer a regular....

  • Curating
  • Trading on Hive-Engine
  • Playing @splinterlands
  • Waiting for something to happen with @exodegame so you can play that a bit more
  • Jiggling yer Cub Defi funds around
  • And doing all that across Hive Main, LEO, POB and SPT, well those four for me.

One can spend several hours a day keeping up with the (albeit enjoyable for the most part) churn.

But it occurred to me yesterday that I really should just accept that I'm a fully-fledged Hive-Dicker, and, well, just go with it!

Accept the fact that checking the various Hive communities is the first thing I do in the morning, and the last thing I do before I go to sleep at night, and something I do A LOT during the days too, every single day.

TBH I think this is me just accepting the very obvious truth that I've done pretty well out of Hive over the last few years. I've met loads of decent people through the ecosystem, both virtually and IRL in Poland then Thailand (the less said about Hive VR last year the better for me!) and the returns haven't been too bad either.

And I'm pretty happy I'm a T200 account holder, in Hive, and have a pretty decent LEO stake too, POB's getting there too, as well as being happily over-invested in @splinterlands, and feeling a bit of rage about that recent Twitter oxymoron too.

I'm still a blogger rather than an Investor, after all

I've had some good crypto investment advice through @leofinance - namely RUNE/ AVA/ OSMOSIS/ My stables strategy and I've done OK out of those, but I came to Hive as a blogger (after a chance encounter with an ex neighbour in Sainsburys of all places one weekday evening almost four years ago).

Writing is what I do, and the very occasional (very unprofessional) video, and this platform remains the best outlet there is, period, for my brain-thing to vent everything and anything it wants to, all of the stuff that doesn't fit into my professional blogging which earns me a regular fiat income.

And trust me, there is PLENTY I still want to write about, so why the hell stop.

And I quite like perusing the communities too - they can be entertaining, infuriating at times too, but that's decentralisation for you.

So I think it's time just to go with the flow and accept I'll be spending AT LEAST THREE HOURS dicking about on Hive every day for the foreseeable future.

Introducing the Hive-Dickers Community

I just had a brainwave in my brain-thing and decided to create a new community....

So I proudly introduce to you the Hive-Dickers community

For all those FULLY committed to dicking about on Hive.

This is a community for those who, in the past, may have thought they were spending too much time on Hive, but more recently have realised that they're OK with being a Hive-Dicker and are now just going with the flow.

The only rule for posting to the community is this...

Don't be a Dick.

Feel free to try it out!

TBH I've no idea why you would want to post to Hive-Dickers ATM: I got NOTHING to incentivise you with, but maybe that'll come.

Maybe it's just another option if you feel like you're spending too much time on Hive, to remind you that 1. You're not alone in feeling that and 2. You really should get over that feeling and just NOT worry about it!

And on that note....

I REALLY have to get off Hive and go and get on with some IRL shit!
