I just Powered Up 120 Hive in honour of May HPUD Day to bring my total stake up to 71 200 Hive.

I've powered up over 4000 Hive this month, having taken advantage of that recent dip in the Hive price.

Clearly this is the opposite of what most large stake holders are doing because in the last month alone I've shot up the HIve Power Rankings 30 places from 247th to 217th, and there's no way I would have done that without a couple of dozen massive power downs from larger accounts.

I'm actually 'powering down' LEO to go deeper into the CUB pools, but I don't really count this as Powering Down, more like 'Powering Down'. in fact even though I've been selling Leo to get more into these pools over the last month if I work out my total LEO holdings including Cub they've increased in the last month!

I also know I'm powering down slower than average because the value of my vote in Leo has been INCREASING.

Headline Stats for May 2021

  • Hive Power - 71 200 (67 000) rank number 217 (247)
  • LEO Holdings - 38 500 (across LEO, WLEO and LBI and BLEO/ CUB)
  • Splinterlands cards - worth around $7000

I use mainly the following sources to get these stats:

Hive Holdings and Hive Rewards

@ReviseSociology received the following rewards:

  • 430 HBD in author rewards
  • 713 HP in author rewards
  • 380 curation HP
  • $1380 worth of Hive related tokens

And @revise.leo received the following:

  • 0.83 HBD in author rewards
  • 1.43 HP in author rewards
  • 0.43 HP in curation rewards
  • $2 worth of Hive related tokens

= $1300 worth of HIVE tokens in May

Somehow I made it into the T20 rewarded authors for May, just for posting about what I'm interested in, so I'll just carry on doing the same.

I like to think this is also because I tend to Power Up the vast majority of my earnings, unlike the VAST MAJORITY who have just been cashing out for doughnuts or whatever.

LEO holdings and LEO rewards

@revisesociology received the following in rewards

  • 297 LEO for author
  • 130 LEO for my WLEO POOL stake - guessed because we haven't been paid yet
  • 16 LEO for staking
  • 443 LEO in total
  • $250 (approx) worth of LEO related rewards in total

@Revise.leo received the following rewards:

  • 420 for curation
  • 15 for author
  • $280 worth of LEO related tokens

So that is around 880 LEO earned in total.

I've focussed a little less on LEO this month, I just haven't had that much to say about finance, but I think I might refocus next month

Other Tribes and tokens

I've been enjoying my earnings from Utopis and Dhedge and also @tipu.

I also try and curate every day on Splintertalk for me SPT!

And I just discovered POB, got a good feeling about this new tribe!

Final Thoughts

My overall earnings for Hive are superb, and combined with some decent curation returns and a little buy-the-dip action I've managed to accumulate quite a significant chunk more in the last month.

Leo earnings are down in dollar terms, because of the falling LEO price, but I think that's just because of people diversifying into Cub. It will be interesting to see where the LEO price bottoms, I think we need more externals investing in Cub to prevent a sustained sell off of LEO to go into the Cub pools - it's just not rational holding LEO for a <20% curation return when you can sell it and earn a >100% return on Cub.
