Reading the start of your post I was afraid just setting a 10-a-day goal is gonna push people to just comment randomly without effort and thought. I guess it's not that hard to free up a bit of time to read a few articles and put some thought into a comment. That said I do see a lot of the generic comments and even real short crappy articles still getting praise and comments.. For that reason I feel that posting something thoughtful is more important than just meeting a set goal as it increases the quality of content and the engagement.
