Time to finally write my report for the last season ofSplinterlands. It wasn't the most eventful of seasons, but the progress was steady and we made some gains I think. The numbers will show if this feeling was right!

Let's quickly look at some key points of the season:

pre-sale madness

For anyone thinking the pre-sale hype would cool down or think vouchers would be cheaper after the initial fomo.. This might not be the case during the presale. 18+ dollar at the time of writing, that's some expensive packs. I know I'm just buying in regular sale and maybe pick up some of the airdrop/promo cards as singles if at all affordable. Really looking forward to somewhat affordable summoners though, and very curious what their perks will be.

really liking the brawls lately

Most of you who been playing for some time know that total collection power is one of the biggest limits for progressing through the leagues in the ranked ladder. Renting collection power at the end of season gets so expensive it's hard to justify the cost for the few extra chests you get unless you're very close to the next league. With the new reward set and chaos legion having lower power per card it's also getting harder over time to reach a higher collection power and reach those next leagues with your owned cards. But there's one more option: gladius cases. These bad boys still pack the power rating of the untamed set so you're basically opening an untamed pack when it comes to power with each. Now you can't just go about buying many of those as you need to do well in the brawls and need the appropriate buidlings leveled but if you're in a guild that has that: better make use of it if you could do with some extra power.

Another thing is these cards bring very strong plays to your brawl matches as they're quite OP compared to regular cards and they all have the bloodlust ability which can boost them even more. Furthermore they can never be rented out or sold so you keep the power always. Having a good base of gladiator cards could therefor allow you to rent out more of your other cards at season end and still be in the league you wanted. The only way to get rid of gladiator cards and get a measly amount of dec in return is to burn them. I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon, if ever..

Let's look at last seasons stats now:

Match Report

Performance

Stat#
Silver Rank11224
Rating1886 - Silver III
Rating High1906
Ratio (Win/Loss)1.17 (158/135)
Longest Streak7

Hmm well above 1 ratio and a decent rating for the league, kinda standard. I could easily reach gold if I had the power but decided against blowing dec on rentals for that so stuck in silver we are. Steady as she goes, we'll get there within a year for sure.

Best part! O look at that, my first gold foil rare card. That was rather exciting. Good burn rate too which means more collection power. Actually the same rate as a legendary, got one of those too by the way. Not bad for one season.

Overall dec rewards weren't great nor totally useless.. shudder, I got some credits from bronze chests. Really looking forward to NOT get reset in bronze. Another reason to get to gold leagues ASAP.

Collection progress since last season

This is my personal tracker for my dollar value and collection power total, this is what shows the slow but steady progress of it all and it 100% helps me stay motivated. Day to day it sometimes feels slow, you get some silly lotions from chests and low dec values, you lose a lot of matches and only have a bit more dec on your balance end of the day. And you think it might all be useless. And then we write the report and see what actually happens every two weeks. more than 250 dollar added in dollar value and about 1600 in power. So close to that 40k Silver 2 limit. I actually already end next season in silver 2 as I do rent a few leveled summoners until I can buy some chaos legion ones. Big step I'd say.

So good to look back to when I started tracking these stats: 21 dollar and 5k power and that was 12 seasons a go, not even half a year. Imagine what can be done in the next whole year? 10k dollar value ? Not unlikely.. 100k collection power? I kinda expect it really.. :-)

Bit of revenue here, this will become a loss again in the next report I'm afraid. Had to stop renting out to stay in the new silver 2 league. Not really sure if renting out would be a better play instead of going for the few extra chests.. but where's the fun in that? I want to play and move up the leagues and then rent out whatever spare cards I can to stay in the league I want to reach.

SPS Report

TypeAmount Claimed
Airdrop124.190
Staking Rewards12.939

Slightly lower than last season, both the airdrop and staking apr are slowly going down. And I've been buying a lot of cards too which hurts the airdrop a bit. Will probably see more airdrop rewards next time as I transferred some stuff to dec.

Nothing but great progress and excitement this season of Splinterlands.

On to the next season!
