We have our opinions on Binance. There are individuals who think CZ is doing amazing job through Binance to make crypto mainstream and providign services to people by exposing them to the crypto assets. On the other extremes are the people who thinks that CZ and Binance has become the powerhouse in crypto who could ultimately manipulate the market to orchestrate whatever they want.

Whichever is the case, I am impressed by the business acumen CZ has demonstrated in the last three years I have known Binance for. He is the one of the wealthiest individuals in the world who made fortune on its entirety through crypto. The Binance exchange is the largest in the world and growing successfully in all markets despite the regulatory challenges they face. The only wish I have is to see Binance as a publicly traded company. CZ hinted that the decentralization of the company is not on the agenda in the near future.

Binance invested 200 million in Forbes

The news broke today. Binance is now one of the two biggest stakeholders of one of the most recognized traditional business media companies in the world – Forbes.

Forbes is known for the ranking of global wealthiest individuals and is 104 years old. It is considered the epitome of a family business which has been passed onto generations. This is the first of its investment where the wealth generated through the newest asset class that exists in the market is being used to buy one of the oldest existing businesses in our economy. I am happy and intrigued at the same time.

CZ is smart

This is very strategic. CZ is known for his business acumen. With the new investment, he has now diversified his wealth to traditional legacy financial instruments. There could be two benefits.

One – Biance could now withstand the regulatory pressure it has been receiving as it has now established as a law-abiding, white-collar organization and not the wild-west adventure that deals with crypto assets.

Two- This is an opportunity to educate the individuals who do not understand the value of blockchain in media. I am 100% sure that CZ will use this opportunity to demonstrate how blockchain tech, NFTs in particular, will be important for every media house out there in the next decade.

In an interview with CNBC, he outlined his idea around web 3 and the value of content generation.He believes in the growth of Web 3 and the value of content creation.

With his track record, there will be voices that will still point towards how Binance is still centralized and does not properly represent the value decentralization. That is very true.

What is also true is that the world will now take notice of the ideas in the crypto space as the crypto billionaires are penetrating the market. It will be interesting to see how this investment pans out in the coming years. For now, good move from CZ in becoming more powerful and wealthier.
