I have noticed something really intriguing throughout my years at college. Reform movements begin with people who are upset about a problem, gain traction with the citizens of a society, and lobby for change. However, changes only become implemented after being passed by governments through legal institutions. No matter how much momentum there is for a change to be made, nothing happens until a law is drafted.

What do we need? We need more people on the end-product side of cryptocurrency movements. We need lawyers lobbying for mass adoption. We need lawyers who have knowledge of cryptocurrency drafting clarifying laws about what crypto is and how it can be used in society. We need lawyers who understand what a cryptocurrency is and why we need it in society.

I am about to apply to law school in America. I am considering going to either Boston College, George Washington, Villanova or even possible a school in California.

Disclaimer: Now don't get me wrong, I'm exhausted. I've been in school my entire life up until now and am losing interest in almost all of the topics I am covering. That being said, the way that society is structured right now, I need to pursue law school to have a role in the change we are about to experience (note that this is because I have a 4th grade JavaScript coding level).

Reality: Now if you do some research on "cryptocurrency lawyers" there are very few results and those that have worked on crypto-cases are normally working on traditional financial cases. There is a very low level of expertise on cryptocurrency among the most skilled lawyers in America.

Hopes: Over the course of my law school career, I hope to help create a pathway for students to come after me to begin specializing in cryptocurrency law practice, not general financial law. I know that I will have to take a lot of general law courses, but I hope to be able to help craft the laws surrounding cryptocurrency as I am working through my studies.

Knowledge and Foresight: On platforms like this, we know that crypto is the future and that the rate that projects are coming out is incredible. We also know that there are common problems like exit-scams, phishing scams and so on. Regulation is not something that many of us like, but it is something that currently still governs our lives. Step one is taking control of what those regulations look like and helping to stimulate healthy growth for not only the developers, but the investors of our ecosystem.

What do you think? Do we need crypto lawyers? I hope to be one of the first!

Feel free to reach out to me over the next few years with recommendations of how you think society should be progressing with this.
