Welcome to Day 24 of your #3stepsnoexcuses journey with me, Rob Willmann.

Now that you're familiar with the format here (3 simple steps to complete each day) let's get started!

Today's Three Steps:

  1. Watch the ClickTrackProfit.com training video "The Budget".
  2. Consider that each person on your list (and on List Nerds) is a real person.
  3. Watch Plus1Success Day 24 "Learn New Skills" training video, then work on staying relevant.

Let's go through each of these steps and grow together as marketers.

1. Watch the ClickTrackProfit.com training video "The Budget"

After you're in CTP, click Training > Lessons. Once you're in the training session, look for "The Budget" video training in the Profit! section and watch it.

I think it's great that Jon is using the "Pizza Plan" to teach about budgeting. Essentially his premise is:

Create a budget of ~$75 USD per month, and then allocate it to the primary evergreen tools you will need to run an online business. Just make sure these evergreen tools you use also have affiliate programs so you can recommend what you actually use.

The 'evergreen' products that all marketers need make up the core of the budget:

  • Autoresponder = ~$20 USD a month.
  • Tracking = ~$10 USD a month.
  • Training = ~$27 USD a month.
  • Hosting = ~$10 USD a month.

Add those up and it's around $67. That leaves around $8 USD for discretionary spending on a couple extras.

This still works today because the concept of budgeting and sticking to it is also an 'evergreen' topic.

A healthy budgeting skill is one you'll use for the remainder of your career. Tracking expenses helps you understand when your online business finally becomes 'profitable'.

Even better, actually using products and services that have their own affiliate programs means that when you write your testimonials, reviews, and posts about a service or product, it has clout. AND your budget consists of services and products that you can refer and earn commissions from.

In the video, Jon uses a monthly commission amount of around $18 per month per person you refer who uses the same toolset you recommend.

Doing the math, that's 4 people that work with these same evergreen services and you are covering your expenses.

Since these services (autoresponder, hosting, etc.) are monthly recurring, this winds up being beneficial since these evergreen tools are things that marketers don't change often and will gladly use and pay for month after month.

TIP: Evergreen products (like CTP and List Nerds) are some of the best to refer because people tend to upgrade and stick with these types of services.

Reviews have higher engagement if you actually own and use what you are reviewing. A budget like the above one covers all that.

Once you've watched the CTP Video and worked on your business budget, it's on to the next task.

2. Consider that each person on your list (and on List Nerds) is a real person.

Perhaps my favorite part of today was this nugget:

Every single 'name' or email address that you send to is..A real person!

This is huge. It's not a 'step' per se. IE: This isn't one of the 'go to list nerds and write xyz' kind of step.

Instead it's a reminder that your subscribers are people. Reaching out and working with them and helping them is what wins.

When you write your emails to your list, remember that these are real people.

It's time for the final step:

3. Watch Plus1Success Day 24 "Learn New Skills" training video, then work on staying relevant.

Once you're logged in, find and watch the Day 24 video "Learn New Skills".

The idea that you must stay relevant and learn new skills resonates with people today. The faster technology moves, the faster we as humans are learning to adapt and learn new skills. I work in IT, and can definitely attest to the need to stay relevant in today's culture.

The same thing applies to you as a marketer online. There's always something new to learn because the different skill areas needed for the role is significant.

Besides using ClickTrackProfit as a learning source, I also use Wealthy Affiliate, and Udemy. In particular I purchase Udemy courses when they go on sale, for topics and technologies that I want to learn.

No matter the source, the goal for today's task is to begin carving out time each day to improve on a skill.

With that, have a wonderful day. Go start promoting your online business with the new tools you now have in-hand.

That's it! Cya tomorrow. Please reach out to me if you have questions.
