Dave Ramsey has been a fixture on the world of finance and personal development for decades. He is a well-known personality on the air, radio, newspaper, and online. A favorite on national radio talk shows, Dave Ramsey has become a household name to a large number of listeners. I personally came across Dave on Youtube when he popped up as a suggested video while search for personal finance stuff. Dave is also a well-known writer and motivational speaker. In addition, to being a financial adviser and businessman, he has helped many people get rid of debt through his radio show and books.

Dave’s books give people a proven step-by-step blueprint that will enable you to get rid of your debt today, increase your net worth, and achieve financial freedom. Dave also strongly believes in the power of positive thinking and some of his money don'ts that I love are: don’t buy new and don’t try to get rich too quickly

However, recently Dave said some nonsense that I totally disagree with. This past week on Dave’s radio show, a guy from Salt Lake City, Utah, called to get Dave’s advice. The man’s income was about to drop as he was getting ready to go back to school. The guy said he invested about $1,500 in bitcoin in 2014 and has made about $120,000 off of it so far and was asking Dave what should he do. Dave said to cash out immediately, calling Bitcoin “funny money.”

The Block's annual outlook survey forecasts that fortune 500 companies will own bitcoin by the end of 2021, according to the Block.

In September, the correlation between S&P 500 companies and bitcoin holdings was near an all-time high. The survey found that many individuals believe that S&P 500 companies will increase their bitcoin holdings next year.

The survey consisted of 106 respondents.

  • 51.4 percent stated that between 5 and 9 fortune 500 companies will have bitcoin holdings by the end of 2021.

  • Around 16 percent of respondents believe that more than 10 companies in the S&P 500 will have bitcoin holdings.

  • 29.7 percent of respondents believe that only 1 to 4 S&P 500 companies will hold bitcoin.

  • 2.7 percent of respondents beleive that one or no S&P 500 companies will hold bitcoin.

As of right now, 0 companies currently have bitcoin holdings.

Now Dave if some of the world's largest companies will be buying Bitcoin in 2021, is Bitcoin really "funny money."

This post is my personal opinion. I’m not a financial advisor, this isn't financial advice. Do your own research before making investment decisions.
