Barbecue is a very broad concept.

In some countries, this word is associated with chicken, somewhere, it is something from lamb, and in other countries, it is everything that is cooked on the coals of a fire.

I grew up in such a country where cuisines of different nations are combined together. This country is Moldova.

Bulgarians and Gagauz live in the south of the country. If you do not know who the Gagauz are, then they are immigrants from Turkey. Turks who converted to Christianity. There are several villages where people from Armenia live, so the names of Voziyan, Sevostyan, and other surnames with the ending in yang appeared among the Moldovans, but. as a rule, they consider themselves Moldovans and have long forgotten about their Armenian roots.

The central and northern parts of Moldova are mainly populated by Moldovans, Ukrainians and Russians.

The cuisines of these peoples are distinctive, but even if their parts are intertwined, it is always delicious. Barbecue is no exception.

All these peoples cook barbecue, both from lamb and pork. Chicken is considered a quick option in case guests suddenly show up lol.

As they say, an unexpected guest is worse than a Tatar, or better, it's a little offensive, lol, my great-grandmother, a native Kazan Tatar and, quite possibly, my ancestors were at the head of the Golden Horde, lol.
