Limited Promo-Card Could Change the Whole Gameplay

If you've noticed in the gameplay of Splinterlands, there's often a popular line-up of cards that everyone wants. When I first joined Splinterlands, the card to have was the Mylor Crowling summoner Earth card. Oh I hated watching those thorns wrap around my cards and squeeze the life out of my monsters!! GRRR! I mean roses are NOT suppose to be afraid of thorns, but I certainly was! Then @clove71 delegated the gold foil Mylar card to me for a bit, and I was in heaven. First of all, I couldn't believe her generosity to such a new player as myself. I'm no one special, and yet she let me borrow it! I'll never forget her kindness. Secondly, I thought I was on top of the Splinterlands world! Perhaps I was, because if you have the right cards folks, it becomes the new meta, and everyone is racing to be the one owning that card.

Is Dr. Blight Gold Foil the Next Meta?

So, when these Chaos Legion cards drop, what's going to be the new Meta? Well, we've heard now for weeks that you're going to want that Dr. Blight card, but let's not just talk about the regular card here, which obviously is wonderful, but let's talk about something even rarer than that: it's time to talk about the GOLD FOIL Dr. Blight! I recommend you get out your calculators for this one, folks. It's about to get serious.

Dr. Blight has the potential to change the whole game structure. You may be in a situation where if he's the next meta, you'll need that card. Now, if you're wanting to participate in tournaments, you need those cards that are game-changers. Let's look at how much money you make in gold and diamond league tournaments:

Wouldn't that be nice to win over $36,000 USD? And that's just one tournament! They've got more set up again just a few days after this one! If you have THE CARD that changes the game, you'll be invincible. You're going to need gold cards to be in those top leagues!

But Who's Going to Have the Gold Foil Card?

If Dr. Blight Gold Foil becomes part of the Meta then what is the Gold Tournament going to look like? Well, it depends on how many of these gold foil cards actually drop from this pre-sale! If we look at the leaderboard today, we can see that the top player is only going to get 7 Gold Foil Cards.

You need 1,000 packs purchased to guarantee you're getting that Gold Foil card. This card WILL NOT drop after the pre-sale, so we can figure the numbers based upon how many packs have been sold from the leaderboard! Now, rather than have a multiple amount of screenshots here of the leaderboard, go to https://splinterlands.com/?p=cl-leaderboard and add them up yourselves, but at the time of this post, there are only 148 Gold Foil Cards that will be given out in Splinterlands' players. That's NOTHING, guys! Let's double the numbers, assuming Splinterlands will at least sell double what's listed today. So you're not even reaching 300 Gold Foil Cards, but let's make it 300 to round out the numbers.

So, in order to MAX a gold card with a legendary card you need four of them. Let's divide 300 then by 4 and you're looking at THE POSSIBILITY of only 75 fully maxed Dr. Blight Gold Foil cards on the market! WOW! But how many people are actually going to be able to max those cards? Well, let's look at the leaderboard again to see. Only 8 people will have the ability to max their Gold Foil Dr. Blight (because they are getting at least 4 Gold Foil Dr. Blight cards).

Now, let's go check out the value of these Gold Foil cards on the market already! For example, just recently @goldmatters shared out a tweet about the gold Prince Julian! You may recall me sharing this news with you in another post.

So how much do you imagine the value of a Maxed Gold Foil Dr. Blight, the very CENTER of the whole Chaos Legion discussion is going to be with all the amazing abilities he has on his card? Like WOAH! Are you breathing?

Let's look at the market now for what the LEGENDARY Gold Foil cards are going for these days...

If you look above the card, you see a number there which indicates how many cards are in circulation. You can see a basic Ancient Lich has 138 Gold Foil cards in existence and is selling today for $100,000. REMEMBER I told you based upon the numbers (if we were to double what's been purchased at this point in the pre-sale), you're looking at the POSSIBILITY of 75 Maxed Dr. Blights, but that would be PRETTY DIFFICULT to get to, considering a lot of players are not going to sell their gold foil cards to you to make that a maxed out Gold Foil Card. I'm certain there will be less than 75 maxed Dr. Blights and I bet you they will be worth more than these cards listed!

The FOMO is REAL!!

So, we're speculating here folks that what Aggroed tells us is actually true, and if so, then he said we want this Dr. Blight card. And if you get that Gold Foil card, especially at MAXED LEVEL, you're talking about MAJOR wins in tournament prizes, major wins in the guilds, definitely wins in the ranked battles, and we can't even BEGIN to dream about what he will do for your land.
