Let's talk about Close Range Ruleset this week for the Share your Battle Mage Secrets weekly challenge.

This Week's Challenge: BATTLE MAGE SECRETS

RULESET: Close Range

Description :

Monsters with ranged attacks are allowed to attack in the first position.

Ranged Attack Monsters are Monsters that can be very effective in battles. I think their main disadvantage is that they can't attack in the first position, so I don't use a lot of Ranged Attack Monsters in battles. But in battles with the Close Range Ruleset, Ranged Attack Monsters can perform Ranged Attacks from the first position, so I love this ruleset. I use more Ranged Attack Monsters, especially in battles with the Close Range Ruleset, so I can strategize better and more efficiently in battles.

Meanwhile, Monsters with the Close Range Ability can perform Ranged Attacks from the first position, even if the battle does not have the Close Range Ruleset.

MY STRATEGY

Before starting the battle, I reviewed the last 5 battles of the opponent player, frankly, it was very difficult for me to predict what kind of strategy the opponent player would team up with in this battle, so I had to consider every possibility. Since the battle has the Close Range Ruleset, I will prioritize selecting Ranged Attack Monsters in this battle, but I also needed to adjust my strategy according to the opposing player's strategy.

I chose Thaddius Brood as the Summoner in this battle, considering the possibility that the opposing player might prefer Magic Attack Monsters. And considering the possibility that the opposing player might prefer Melee Attack Monsters, I will add the Disintegrator with the Demoralize Ability to my team. And I will put Cursed Windeku with the Thorns Ability in the first position. I will be using 3 Ranged Attack Monsters in this battle but I will put them in the last positions since they have low health. Also, since the battle has the Are You Not Entertained? Ruleset, I will add one Gladiator to my team. Finally, I decided to add Riftwing with the Flying Ability and the Scavenger Ability to my team. After determining my strategy, I created my team and the line-up of monsters in my team is as follows.

LINE UP

Summoner : THADDIUS BROOD

I chose Thaddius Brood as the Summoner, considering the possibility that the opposing player might prefer Magic Attack Monsters in this battle. Thaddius Brood is a summoner who reduces the Magic Attack of all enemy Magic Attack Monsters by -1 and the health of all enemy Monsters by -1. Thaddius Brood is a Rare Summoner Card in the Death Unit belonging to the Chaos Legion Edition. And it costs 4 mana.

Position 1: CURSED WINDEKU

Cursed Windeku has 2 Melee Attacks, 3 Speed, and 10 Health at level 2 and Thorns Ability from level 1. Cursed Windeku is a Rare Monster Card in the Death Unit belonging to the Chaos Legion edition. The main reason I chose Cursed Windeku in this battle was because it has Thorns Ability and 10 health. Since Cursed Windeku has the Thorns Ability, it can be effective against Melee Attack Monsters in battles. In this battle, I put it in first position. And it costs 6 mana.

  • Thorns Ability : When hit with a Melee attack, does damage back to the attacker.

Position 2: DISINTEGRATOR

Disintegrator has 2 Melee Attacks, 2 Speed, 3 Armor and 6 Health at level 4 and Demoralize Ability from level 1. Disintegrator is a Common Monster Card in the Neutral Unit belonging to the Chaos Legion edition. The most important reason I added Disintegrator to the team in this battle was because it had the Demoralize Ability. Since Disintegrator has the Demoralize Ability, reduces the Melee Attack of all enemy Melee Attack Monsters by -1. Although Disintegrator can't attack outside of the first position, I didn't want it to be the first target of enemy attacks so I put it in the second position. And it costs 7 mana.

  • Demoralize Ability : Reduces the Melee attack of all enemy Monsters.

Position 3: RIFTWING

Riftwing has no attack power and has 4 Speed, 7 Health at level 4 and Flying Ability and Scavenger Ability from level 1. Riftwing is a Common Monster Card in the Death Unit belonging to the Chaos Legion edition. The most important reason I chose Riftwing in this battle was because it has the Scavenger Ability, and since Riftwing has the Scavenger Ability, each time any monster dies in battle, it gains +1 health. Also, because it has the Flying Ability, it has a chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability. And I put it in third position. And it costs 4 mana.

  • Flying Abilit : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

  • Scavenger Ability : Gains 1 max health each time any monster dies.

Position 4 : RAVENHOOD WARDEN

Ravenhood Warden has 2 Ranged Attacks, 2 Speed, 2 Health at level 3 and the Protect Ability from level 1. Ravenhood Warden is a Rare Monster Card in the Death Unit belonging to the Reward (Soulbound) edition. I added Ravenhood Warden to my team because I thought it would be advantageous for all monsters on my team to have armor in this battle. Since Ravenhood Warden had the Protect Ability, all monsters in my team would have +2 armor in this battle. By the way, I'd also like to point out that these armors will be removed when the Ravenhood Warden dies so I needed to keep it away from enemy attacks so I put it in the fourth position. If the opposing team does not have a Monster with the Opportunity Ability, it will not be the first target of enemy monsters. And it costs 4 mana.

  • Protect Ability : All friendly Monsters gain +2 Armor.

Position 5 : LIZA FOX

Liza Fox has 4 Ranged Attacks, 4 Speed, 6 Health at level 3 and the Bloodlust Ability from level 1. Liza Fox is a Rare Gladiator Card in the Death Unit belonging to the Gladius edition. And it costs 7 mana. Liza Fox is a Gladiator who can attack targets very powerfully, and she has the Bloodlust Ability, which is very effective in battles and becomes more dangerous against enemies as the battle goes on. The most important reason why I chose Liza Fox in this battle was because she has the Bloodlust Ability. Also, since the battle had the Close Range Ruleset, she would be able to attack even if she was in the first position. I put her in fifth position so that Liza Fox would not be the first target of enemy attacks in this battle. I trust her a lot in this battle.

  • Bloodlust Ability : This Monster revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats.

Position 6 : DHAMPIR STALKER

Dhampir Stalker has 3 Ranged Attacks, 3 Speed, 6 Health at level 3 and the True Strike Ability from level 1. Dhampir Stalker is a Rare Monster Card in the Death Unit belonging to the Chaos Legion edition. And it costs 7 mana. The most important reason why I chose Dhampir Stalker in this battle was because he has the True Strike Ability. I love the True Strike Ability because the attacks of Monsters with the True Strike cannot miss. And I put Dhampir Stalker in last position.

  • True Strike Ability : This Monster's attacks cannot miss.

BATTLE COMMENTS

In this battle, my attack strategy was to target the first position monster on the opposing team and destroy the opposing team starting with the first position monster. In this battle, I thought it would be advantageous to focus on a single target rather than attacking scattered, and I'd say this is a strategy that works well in some battles.

Round 1

Battle Link

There were similarities in our strategy with the opposing player, but I'm glad that the monsters on the opposing team don't have armor, it would make my team's job easier in this battle. It was also a big advantage for my team that the speed of the monsters on the opposing team was lower and the speed of the monsters on my team was higher.

In the first round, the monsters in my team attacked their targets quite powerfully and effectively, and the opposing team was quite helpless against their attacks. At the end of the first round, All monsters in my team were still alive while 2 monsters from the opposing team were destroyed.

Round 2

The lack of armor of the monsters on the opposing team made this battle very easy for my team. In the second round, the enemy monsters were easily destroyed by the attack of the monsters in my team, and they had a very difficult time destroying the monsters in my team. In the second round, 3 more monsters from the opposing team were destroyed, while all the monsters in my team were still alive. So the opposing team could not destroy any monster in my team in both rounds.

Round 3

In the third round, there was only one monster left on the opposing team and it only had 1 health, so it wasn't difficult at all to destroy it.

To be honest, I didn't expect this battle to be this easy. My strategy worked pretty well in this battle, having all the monsters on my team have +2 armor and reducing the Melee Attack of Melee Attack Monsters on the opposing team by -1 helped a lot. Although the battle was a 39 mana battle, it only lasted 3 rounds, and at the end of the battle, all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed while all the monsters on my team were still alive. I recommend you to watch this wonderful battle and the weekly challenge from battle link. I hope you like it and I'm very curious about your comments about the battle.

BATTLE RESULTS

MY OPINION

I think it is very important in all battles to team up with a good strategy according to the ruleset of the battle. In addition, no matter how strong the opposing team is, I think it is not difficult to win the battles when I can form a team with a good strategy according to the ruleset of the battle and the opponent. I like Ranged Attack Monsters especially like more those that can attack from the first position because they can be very effective in battles. That's why I like the Close Range Ruleset. And I can clearly say that I prefer the Ranged Attack Monsters more in battles with the Close Range ruleset.

What are your thoughts on the battle? I would be glad if you write your thoughts in the comments.
