I totally agree with you but it's weird that LUNC goes up, LUNA goes down. Otherwise LUNA will fall today and rise tomorrow. This is normal.

Hive and Steem proved that new forks can exceed the original one.

ETH and ETHC actually did that too when you think about it.

So we will have to see if that holds true for the Terra chains.
