Moving on to my collection of drachma coins, in the following posts we'll be seeing 2 drachma coins. The first one has the crowned arms (shield with cross) with the defenders of the Crown and the portrait of mature King Paul A, who reigned over the years 1947-1964.

The lettering

Obverse:

ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ = KINGDOM OF GREECE 2 ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ = 2 DRACHMAI

Reverse:

ΠΑΥΛΟΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ = PAUL KING OF THE GREEKS 1959 = *1959

And here is another one from 1962:

The coin

It is a standard circulation coin from the Third Modern Drachma coin period that circulated from 1954 to 1965. It is made of nickel copper-nickel, weighs 5.78 gr, has a diameter of 23.89 mm and a thickness of 1.62 mm.

And this is the link to its Numista page: 2 Drachmai - Paul I
