Today, March 20th, 2022, is Hive's Second Birthday

Time flies - yes, we are celebrating Hive's second birthday today. And what an occasion to celebrate this day seeing a dream becoming reality - yes, I am talking about the LARYNX Miner Token claim drop announced by the @spknetwork. I am sure, many of us have been waiting for this great moment - the foundation of a true web3 platform is coming to reality with this claim drop. If you do not know about the larynx miner tokens then look at this post by @spknetwork - they are like digital miner rigs. The claim will continue for one year and we need to claim our miner token each month, for 12 months. The amount of larynx miner tokens are based on our Hive stake as of January 6th, 2022 - that was the reason, I did not move any of my hive elsewhere. And both liquid as well as staked hive (powered up) would have been considered. There are couple of giveaways declared by @spknetwork, along with a very special schedule for today's claim drop live party - please refer this post for all the details.

Larynx miner tokens will play a very important role in governance of the SPK Network - because the SPK governance tokens will be earned by staking these tokens and running a SPK Network P2P node. So those who are serious about running such a node to have profitable mining operation will try to stake the max securing their position. Most of us may not fall into that category so a lot of reshuffling is expected in the next twelve months. If you plan to sell them, then you must give close attention to the demand / supply model , to trade them at the most profitable price in the open market. When it comes to me, I am planning to keep them and retain in initial months - the reason being, I will look for more details on the profitability model vs complexity of running such an infrastructure (P2P Node). Who knows, I may actually end up participating by running such a node.

Ceramic Accounts that will allow Off-chain posting and comments
Ability to create content platforms on SPK Network

Earlier I mentioned to @anomadsoul about my intention to build a mobile app that would allow off-chain posting and comments and then post them to the hive network at end of day. There are several use cases of such apps - capturing every details of a day's activity on the blockchain for transparency - the true use case of a blockchain. Possibly these two topics are going to unfold more about this new capability. I do not have expertise building mobile apps, but I am sure, if some of the expert devs provide a prototype for mobile apps that any dev can clone and run a live app in a day allowing off-chain posting for a customized time period and then replaying it to the main network, we will soon see hive being used by several governments who believe in transparency.

Given the time of the event being late, I would like to request the @spknetwork to record the presentation and then publish it here, so that it helps those who cannot be present on the live event, given that we are truly a global chain. I would also like to take this opportunity to post about 5 reasons I love hive for the hive writing challenge by @hiveio.

Writing helps me relieve my stress,become creative and learn

Writing a post definitely helps me to become creative - every post I write needs some sort of planning and presentation. And it also helps me to better plan my day - because I have to plan my other activities to set aside 1-2 hours for this chain. And the interactions with regular hive friends are true fun. I do not actively interact with many people, but those few with whom I interact regularly know that we have built a special relationship :) We started the relationship on hive but slowly it became so intense that we are now connected directly on phone and even physically :)

Communities are the greatest assets providing us opportunities to brainstorm

I am not sure, if you will agree or not, but every person lives by a certain philosophy. With time, it is very much necessary to look at our inner self often. And only a challenge can do that - challenge us to answer to some great questions that would take us to our imagination. If you have not discovered the @ecotrain community yet, then I strongly encourage you to subscribe to it. Same goes with the THE WEEKEND community, @galenkp always comes up with some niche posting topics that takes you to your imagination. I often participate in these two communities and I am sure, there are many more such communities that I am yet to discover.

For the money but not for the money

Well, who does not love money !! But everyone would agree that most of us would not do everything for money, right ? So Hive allows me to earn while enjoying what I do - by upvoting content and earn curation reward. There are several accounts that promise a 16% APR from curation reward by delegating to them. But as I said, I am here for the money but not only for the money. So I prefer to retain my hive stake and upvote my friends here and earn something in return. Some people even reached me directly asking for delegation with some more reward apart from that 16%, but hey, money cannot buy everything on this planet.

Plethora of opportunity from second layer tokens

I am sure, each of us know about second layer tokens that exists on this chain and provides opportunities to earn a lot from them. I am not aware about many, but I am invested into few tokens because I believed in them. Leo and Cub from @leofinance , STEM and @punksonhive by @themarkymark. I have delegated them to @brofi to earn some BRO tokens that is now close to 500$ - another token that I consider valuable. And then I see great potential in the pob and vyb tokens that I earn regularly. I am sure, there are many other tokens that have made few millionaires ( e.g. SPS), so the second layer tokens can almost allow one to live of this chain without a regular job. I am planning to buy my dream car out of my PolyCub investment recently.

HBD - it can be my retirement plan

Yes, I mean it. The day I put 500000 HBD in savings, I can stop worrying about having a regular job because, I can live from HBD interest. I know its far but I also know its not impossible. I am saving every HBD that I earn as part of my posting reward. If HIVE price shoots to 10$ ( which I believe is possible in this year only with all the latest developments), I will liquidate some of my HIVE to HBD and then travel in my dream car earned from xPolyCub. I am sure, HBD interest is yet to catch on fire outside of the HIVE world, but current statistics says more and more people are treating this as a valuable stream of income and 12% interest is not bad - even though one pays 30% tax on it, it still leaves 8.4% white money that you won't get anywhere else today.
