The new entertainment economy. Crypto, collectibles and gaming.
As some of you know, I have started working on a project together with Alex Gallego to give life to an NFT collection of new creatures called The Grim Folks
Little by little, the initial idea we discussed together when I first approached him to introduce the crypto nft space, has been evolving into a new ecosystem which started offering the first free promo card drops in the WAX blockchain.
It may seem just a small group of illustrations but there is much more than that and I would like to describe the process so far to show all the areas we have been considering and are working on to make this a reality in a few weeks.
After the first designs we had to create the official webpage, right not it is just a static page, but we will implement new areas to interact with the users. A webpage is just the start of the collection exposure, we have created a Twitter account and I have started to post the progress in Hive. But this is just the beginning, we still need to contact some WAX stream influencers to reach a bigger audience before we launch.
Free drops may seem a quick easy task but in order to make them a reality you have to create your account, define all necessary tools in the main WAX marketplace which is AtomicAssets as the collection, the schemas, and templates. Then you need to request the account to be whitelisted so everyone can see the NFTs you post there, and once everything is ready, you purchase RAM, create the airdrop through the official smart contract, set the amount, price, and date and you are ready to go.
We will be launching several free drops until early May which is when we plan to have the official launch. Meanwhile, we have to define all the collection rules. That is all the cards, the amounts, and the rules to get cards not minted at launch where users will have to get exchanging basic common cards. Those mechanics will have to be deployed in smart contracts too.
We will also introduce bags as the way to get into the collection. Users will be able to purchase card bags on our website using WAX, that will be the way to start interacting with the collection, but anyone will also be able to go to the market and trade them there.
On top of all that, we have joined the new WAX-related Minecraft Metaverse called The Uplift World, an incredible new space where users will be able to play and earn WAX. We are building The Grim Folks land there and once the world opens to the public, you all will be able to come and join us there. We plan to drop some cards to those interacting with the new Metaverse!
Our land plot is in Gratitude, the Gaming cluster of The Uplift World, with many other plots for you to explore and with empty plots to be purchased to directly participate in-game.
