Splinterlands - Still testing my luck on Gladius Packs #7
Welcome
Hello everyone, here we go again! It's a fresh new start for the season which means that here comes the grind time. Either fight with bots in silver or climb to Gold level. And today, our topic is all about guild brawl and a Gladius pack opening after the reward payouts.
Our last brawl performance
Still, our guild just made a good performance in last brawl after we got out new members Shade and Shawn. Since then, the average ranking in brawl is the second place which I think it is pretty decent. It was such a surprise for me. Considering the general performance of our members, we just did a great job to finish the brawl. Hopefully we can ace our next brawl and get more rewards to have our Gladius opening, to boost our power rank and dominate the brawl.
About my battles
For me, I am currently filling the fray 11 which is a golden bronze one. And we have a consent that it should probably be the optimal solution for us since I usually rent gold foils only to fill my power gap and boost DEC rewards. In the brawl, I made 3 wins and 1 enemy fled. Let's move on to the battles.

My Gladius pack opening
Again, the best part of brawls should be winning some merits and get some Gladius packs opening. The fact shows that I have no luck on packs again since I got the floor rewards again, which means 4 common and 1 rare. As such, not even any epic or legendary. Life is tough, keep grinding and moving on.
About the monsters
KRASH WANDERFORD
Krash is by far the fastest of the Gladiators, and while he is not particularly skilled with any weapons, he is incredibly resourceful and strong in combat. He was allowed to keep his wild and unkempt appearance, his long shaggy hair, and a couple of his canine friends as companions. The Gloridax masters have not yet decided if they intend to allow him to use dogs without violating the rules of single combat in gladius gloriae. They will most likely be allowed simply because they will present a more exciting show for the spectators.
To be honest, I never use it in my brawls since I prefer a splinter with attacks rather supportive ability. In this way, I can stack the stats with bloodlust and make it become a boss. By simply considering the stats and ability, a level 10 Krash is definite a beast with insane speed, i.e. Dodge master.
CAPTAIN KATIE
Captain Katie was recently offered a handsome reward by the Order of the Silver Shield to sign onto a one year term as a Moxian Gladiator in representation of Khymeria. While flying has always been her passion and her life, fighting has been her favorite hobby. She is skilled in all weapons of close combat and forms of physical defense. She also has a bunch of steam-powered tricks up her sleeve, different applications of the same crystal tech that allows her to fly.
By looking at the stats and ability, it is a decent and typical magic monster with good attacks and snipe ability. However, the Bloodlust ability could makes huge difference in battle once it gets into snowballing.
HELMET KHARAFAX
Humboldt Kharafax is the Poet Laureate of greater Khymeria. There are many whispers, especially in light of his most recent works, that he sympathizes with the forbidden rebellious sect known as Peacebringers. If the Order of the Silver Shield were ever able to prove this theory, the old man would vanish faster than the Peacebringers’ coded chalk messages during a strong rain. Kharafax’s wife died long ago, but not before their only Khymian son was delivered. His name is Helmet, and he is his father’s pride.
Personally, I do not use this card quite often since I define it as a mini tank with lower cost. However, in most cases, life team has better tank for my line up such as SHIELDBEARER and CHAOS KNIGHT. However, if we get it to a higher level and then it could be another story since he got 5 abilities with only 2 mana cost.
ALVA THE CRUSHER
The Crusher, who was abandoned by her parents as a child, was raised alone on one of the smaller islands of the Archipelago of ΛZMΛRÉ by Crustacean Kings. They fed her vast quantities of enchanted ironkelp each day, which ensured that she grew extremely large not only in height and width, but weight as well. She doesn’t talk much, but she currently holds the title of largest Human Gladiator. If it were not for the massive Cyclops called Gorth, she would be the largest of all the Gladiators. Still, she is far heavier than even the Cyclops Gladiator.
Alva is one of my favorite Gladius card since I have the gold foil for it which means that's the only Gladius card I can use in brawl (Gold foil fray). The ability is decent since water deck always lack a tank with shield ability.
WHISTLING DAMON
Damon had a special contract written for his enlistment as a Gladiator in the Moxian tournaments. Instead of gold or Heliostones, he has requested his pay in many types of Khymian medicine, which he intends once his service has ended to take home, so that the Psychler clan never has to leave the safety of their hidden mountain homes.
Simply looking at the stat, I know that this will be come a boss in low level brawls. It has decent 2 range attacks and 3 health while only costs 3 mana which is pretty useful in low mana cap battles. However, the boost become insignificant and it have little space for growth with leveling the card. In other words, it is useful and strong in the early stage while you do not have any epic or legendary gladius cards.
Guild Recruitment
Our guild is looking for 1 more member recently, and our expectation is Silver/Gold league or above. The only requirement of joining us is to have timely DEC contribution and be active in Brawls, so that we can build up our team together. Who doesn't want some guild packs and get those sweet free powers? Moreover, the implement of land is believe to function and link with guild so that I suggest anyone of you to grab a slot in guild as soon as possible (if you haven't got one).
