It's hard to believe it is December already! That means another month has passed and it's time for my monthly HIVE progress post! I find these posts to be motivational for me and also a way to keep track of my activity and assess what works and what doesn't. The only way to make optimal decisions is to analyze results and tweak things along the way.

In my October 2021 HIVE earnings recap, I noted that the value of my holdings had increased by over $1,800. A month-to-month comparison may be a bit difficult for November because of the large increase in the price of HIVE so I will try to do both a HIVE token count analysis as well as a HIVE value one. I'm hopeful that not only did the value of my HIVE balances increase as a result of the price increase, but that I continued to build my stake in the form of additional HIVE and second layer tokens too.

Blogging and Curation Rewards

On the main HIVE blogging chain, I took some screenshots from HiveStats.io to review my last 30 days of curation and author rewards from the posts I've published.

On a token basis, I saw myself earn a total of 80.53 HP and 74.13 HBD for a total value of $291.69. The dollar value is double what I earned in October, but the HP gains were slightly down from the 100.44 last month. It appears the difference is in Author HP as I actually earned slightly more Curation HP in November.

Over the month, I received over 3500 upvotes and 277 comments!

Another difference is that the 700 HP delegation I was receiving from @traciyork and @aliento for placing in the top 3 of the October 2021 #hivepud contest had expired and was not in place for the month of November.

While earning almost $300 from blogging is a mini-miracle all by itself, I also have considerable rewards in the form of several other second-layer tokens too! Let's add those up.

Splintertalk (SPT) Earnings

Total authorship SPT earned from Splintertalk.io in November = 18,385 ($109.94). As I've mentioned previously, it's nearly impossible to easily determine total curation rewards because Splintertalk does not populate those rewards in the wallet going back more than a few days. However, if I look at the past few days and average it out, I've been earning 126 SPT per day in curation, which equals out to 3,780 ($22.60) for the month.

It appears that the value of SPT has fallen quite a bit over the past month, more than 50%. My SPT rewards fell from 32,200 last month because the upvotes I received were smaller.

My curation rewards have increased dramatically, mostly because I increased my SPT Power from 15,000 to 50,000. At this new level of 50,000 SPT Power, my SPT Curation APR is around 91%.

Adding together my authorship and curation SPT rewards, I received over 22,100 SPT with a value of $132.54 this past month.

Adding the SPT earnings to the HIVE Power and HBD brings the total to: $424.23. This is a slight increase of $13 over last month, but most of the gain can be attributed to the increase in the price of HIVE (offset by the lower price of SPT). On a token basis, I am down 20 HP and 12,200 SPT tokens in November vs. October and up 5 HBD.

Splinterlands

Source: Splinterlands.com

Splinterlands is an extremely addictive virtual card game on the HIVE blockchain and I've been getting more and more involved in it. I'm currently co-leader of [email protected] PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish guild and have been playing fairly well considering I rent most of my cards. Check out my latest #brawlreport to see how fun this game is.

Last month I dipped my toe into card ownership and generated revenue by renting cards. In November, I earned $168.25 in net rental revenue and made $134.42 in net revenue from card flipping. That's a total of $302.67 in card-related revenue for the month. I continue to earn about a 10% monthly return by renting certain higher value @Splinterlands cards and will likely expand my card collection as I can find other high-APR deals.

I did not have any substantial earnings from gameplay in November and will just assume it as zero dollars for this analysis.

SPS and VOUCHER Rewards

I earned 457.50 SPS ($186.20) in airdrop and staking rewards during the month. The VOUCHER airdrop continued through November 16th and I received 8.575 VOUCHERs worth $162.92. In total, my earnings from SPS and VOUCHERs was $349.12.

Combining card income with SPS and VOUCHERs and my total Splinterlands income for November was $651.79, an increase of $23 over the month prior. PIZZA Token

During the month of November, I retained my position as the 10th largest holder of staked $PIZZA tokens, earning me a weekly reward that totaled 6,120 tokens over the course of the month. At current prices, those reward tokens are worth $893.52. This is the last month of these rewards as the top 10 staked holder rewards scheme has been modified going forward. I am exploring shifting a large portion of my staked $PIZZA tokens to one of the many liquidity pools available that are currently paying APRs of over 100 and 200%.

Rising Star Game

Last month I reported that I had just hit level 35 in @RisingStarGame and I'm happy to say that this month I have achieved level 39. My short term goal is to hit level 50 and acquire the Millionaire Card. It appears only a few more months will be required until I reach that milestone.

I've been running a weekly Rising Star giveaway that has proven very popular and has been a lot of fun as I quiz my readers on an interesting topic in each post. The most recent post I asked for readers to share the strangest instrument they have ever played or seen played live. Please feel free to join the conversation and share your own story, you might even win a free RARE Rising Star card for leaving your comment!

These posts have also generated a nice amount of author rewards that were included in the first part of this post, but I do not actively track the amount of Starbits rewards I receive playing the game.

OneUp

This is the second month that I have been including the #oneup tag in my gaming posts so I earn this new token. I staked 1,500 OneUp tokens early on in its release, the first 100 I received as a gift from @kennyskitchen.

My total authorship rewards on OneUp for November was 1063 tokens, worth $48.80. A rough estimate of curation rewards over the month comes to 162, or $7.44. This brings my total OneUp earnings for the month of November to 1,225 ($56.24).

Orions Peak Gaming

This is the first time I've included #opg in this summary and while it hasn't resulted in a significant amount of earnings yet, I have managed to enter the Top 10 holders list for this token. I achieved this rank solely by publishing gaming content and using the OPG tag. OPG is awarded through manual curation and does not appear to yet have a staking function, although I imagine that may be something that could come to fruition in the future.

I was actually surprised when I added up these rewards to see that I had earned 49 tokens as a result of authorship rewards and weekly Top 10 rewards. Those 49 tokens are worth about $30. The tokens are very thinly traded as the project is just getting off the ground, but this looks like a good way to earn rewards if you're already writing about gaming on HIVE!

November Earnings Recap

HIVE Blogging/Curation: $291.69 (80 HP, 74HBD) Splintertalk: $109.94 (18,385 tokens) Splinterlands: $651.79 PIZZA: $893.52 (6,120 tokens) OneUp: $56.24 (1,225 tokens) OPG: $30 (49 tokens)

Total: $2,033.18 USD

In October, I earned a little over $1,800 in HIVE-related earnings and that number increased to just over $2,000 in November! While I made a comment earlier about the price of HIVE increasing dramatically in the past weeks, the impact only appeared in the HIVE blogging/curation portion since I have found that all the other second-layer tokens seem to track fiat pricing instead of maintaining a peg to HIVE.

I wasn't sure I'd be able to beat my October earnings, but I did! Now I can really say that December will not beat November since I will be losing out on those large PIZZA token Top 10 rewards going forward, which was responsible for almost half of my earnings this month. But even subtracting that out, the fact that I'm making over $1000 per month on HIVE is amazing.

Happy December everyone!
