Why? Robinhood is offering a choice: non-custodial and custodial cryptowallets

  • I wrote about this in my recent post, and here is an excerpt from it:
  • Most Large Financial Companies like RobinHood, Coinbase, Binance, Gemini and other very large finance companies have a company controlled wallet, where the cryptocurrency is under the locked protection of the companies password, which is also called the Private Key. So being able to have a self-custody wallet means having your cryptocurrency in your own wallet, and controlling the password or private keys. Robin Hood is now going to offer it's 31.8 million customers the right to self custody their cryptocurrency, or protect and own it with their own set of Private Keys. Robin Hood is huge, and is a very busy fiat on-ramp to cryptocurrency, which is not restricted. 31.8 million people is a lot. ‘Robin Hood just announced, the wallet and already has a waiting list of 1.6 million people.

Robin Hood is offering cryptocurrerency adoption Your Way as in giving you a choice in how you want to get into cryotocurrency in small baby steps or big giant steps.
  • I think this type of choice is exactly what cryptocurrency and decentralization is all about; choice, small steps, big steps, giant steps, but the main thing is You Decide.
  • cryptocurrency and decentralization is more then a pill it's a multiple course meal.
  • We sould consume it at our own pace, our own speed, in a maner we decide and feel comfortable with.
  • Robin Hood is giving us that, and I think thats great!
  • I hope Robin Hoods 30 million active daily users feel that way too, because that's a huge amount of people being given a very easy, comfortable way to start entering the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
  • And I think this is wonderful.
  • What do you think?
