Very interesting ideas. Stablecoin definitely have the attention of regulators and governments. I believe you are exactly right about the threat they pose to monetary systems due to current lack of control. The whole Facebook Libra incident showed the ability of the banks to mobilize their political allies against threats. Once Facebook Diem becomes widely known I expect a similar assault, but time will tell if Zuckerberg has managed to ”acquire” the necessary political allies to protect his next attempt to monetize Facebook further.
It’s going to be interesting to watch.
