This is the New Normal. I always hated going to meetings. I always measured the time it took to walk, drive, park, walk, meet, walk, drive, park and return to work. Sometimes I would gaze out at a room and count the heads and multiply that by 2 hours, the time lost. It was often 100 hours of time, the equivalent of 2.5 days work spent going to a meeting. What a waste. Plus there were to many people there to give each a chance to speak on the issues, so we weren't even utilizing the collective brain power present. It seemed more like a meeting to satisfy the vanity of the leader, who had the power to call us together from the far reaches of the city!
I shall not mourn the passing of the mid-day, in-person, business meeting.
