Win 3 Battles without Neutral Monsters

  • Once again, Splinterlands asks I win 3 battles without Neutral cards. Still not sure why only 3 but that number's better than 30 so I happily completed the task.

  • I usually put Creeping Ooze or Sand Worm in my line ups but I was able to do without them.

  • After Splinterlands finds opponents for me to battle, I look at the Recently Played section to see which Splinters, summoners, and monsters they've used recently. It usually shows their last five fights so you get kind of an idea of what type of team people like to play--but also everyone's mixing monsters up and strategizing according to the constantly changing battle conditions/rules so it's still pretty random.

  • In the screenshot below we can see my opponent's name, guild, rating, power, their recently played teams, this battle's rules, mana cap, allowed elements/splinters, and the countdown.

  • Clicking on the Recently Played Teams' Splinter symbols, or hovering over them with a mouse on desktop, reveals the Summoners and Monsters this player used. Just as I can see their teams for their last 5 battles, they can see the teams for my last 5 battles which is a good reason to build up at least 2 Splinters you can really rely on, just in case you need to shake things up so future opponents can't predict your every move.

  • Instead of just relying on a Fire Splinter team equipped with Blast-ability monster cards, switch it up to your next best team or next two best teams--a full Magic Water Splinter Team, or a Life Team with lots of rebuildable Armor, or a Life Team that not only punishes Melee and Range with the Mylor Crowling summoner and some Return Fire ability monster but also someone who resurrects defeated enemy monsters.

  • Or completely disregard all the above opinions because there's so many different strategies to use in Splinterlands, it may be better to just personally come up or find out what works better for you. I can't even say you how many times I've clicked Skip To Results because of what I considered a bad team on my part compared to my opponent and found out that I'd somehow won--resulting in me watching replay videos where a ridiculous amount of my enemy's attacks missed my monsters because sometimes your best advantage is simply lady luck.

  • Here's the desktop and mobile links to my final winning fight.

  • Anyway, after completing the Daily Quest, I was presented with three loot chests.

  • And here's what was inside:

  • More Dark Energy Crystals are always welcome, I got one more duplicate for Earth Splinter's Pelacor Mercenary, and another duplicate for Dragon Splinter's Twilight Basilisk. I can't wait to get more of these cards and level them up for better stats and more abilities.

  • The fun never stops with Splinterlands but it's good they put that DEC Capture Rate feature into the game to deter people like me from playing forever lol.

Here you can see my capture rate is a little low (I've been playing a lot lately). If I took a break from the game and returned in a few days I would be winning twice as many DEC as I'm winning now. Or at least that's how I understand it to work. If that's wrong, please feel free to let me know.

  • Splinterlands is only growing more and more popular. The price of cards is slowly increasing and it looks like the game's only going to have more and more new features. Blockchain gaming feels like the future because it turns even your leisure time--like an online card game-- into something not only productive but potentially lucrative!
