Afternoon everyone….

From the moment I got back from the Vegas meet up I’ve been pretty much balls to the wall busy. I etched out that window of time months ago, but it is surrounded by deadlines now.

The weather here in the northeast isn’t exactly cooperating either. We had an ice storm Tuesday night into Wednesday evening dropping what turned out to be five inches of solid ice for us.

Now this morning another winter storm starting which is supposed to drop five to eight inches on us. There’s also a severe weather warning that keeps going off on my phone. Today from 3pm-9pm there are going to be extreme wind conditions with winds of 30-50 mph, with gusts over 60. Gee thanks Mother Nature…….

As I digress….

The purpose of this post is to show off the shiny that I grabbed in Vegas with the other asskickers that showed up.

Over a two day period I was at the coin show three separate times. On Friday morning, @summertooth, @dfinney and I headed over to the Palace Station which is where the coin show was. @brianrrr was staying there so we met up with him shortly after arriving. The *poof out of nowhere @enginewitty appeared.

We all did a stroll around the show checking out the dealer tables. It didn’t take long before all of us were digging out some cash for some shiny.

I was looking for two specific coins for a series I am trying to complete. I found several dealers with coins. Now it was finding the best deal. One of the coins that I needed was priced higher then I had anticipated. So without a fairly nice win in the casino was out of reach for me this time. But the other was just a matter of finding the right one at the right price.

After a little negotiation, our price was agreed upon and the transaction was completed.

Once that goal was met, it was just finding anything that grabbed my eye. Well there were tons of coins that grabbed my eye, but you know what I mean.

It didn’t take long till more money was being handed over. A dealer had a whole bunch of Engelhard rounds. Now I once had a tube of twenty of those, but I gifted a few away leaving me short. So I pulled the trigger and grabbed five of them to finish off my tube again.

@fat-elvis had landed so all of us hopped into the @summertooth mobile and headed over to grab him. It was kinda funny because we were waiting for him and he walked right passed us. He looked like he was on a power walk, no bad just a backpack over his shoulder. We got a good laugh out of it.

Now back to the coin show with @fat-elvis aboard. It didn’t take him long to part with some useless fiat. I wasn't really looking for anything else.

*BUT…..

As I was browsing, I saw these cool poured ten ounce bars at one of the dealer tables. I asked how much, he replied $270. At the time that was only $1.10 an ounce over spot. By far the best price per ounce at the show.

After walking around answering questions from several of the crew with us. I decided to go back and buy the poured ten ounce bar. Guess my *Stackitus got the best of me….

We left the show shortly after that. We dropped off @enginewitty, and @fat-elvis to let him check in to his hotel. Headed back to our place to hang for a few. Got word that @thedamus was now in town and we were meeting up at 7pm at his suite.

After a night of fun and adventures with the crew we called it a night. Which was actually early morning….

The following day we met up once again at the coin show because @thedamus had not yet been there. He was holding a tube of the two ounce Canadian Kraken coins that he was looking to sell.

Like a seasoned pro, he handled that and was on the prowl now for so new shiny. He grabbed a few things right away. Now everyone had some Vegas souvenirs.

Walking around just looking with @summertooth, we stopped at a table where the guy had several graded Franklin half dollars.

*Well…..

Somehow one of them ended up leaving with me. Well you know….

So here is my total score from the Vegas coin show: Here is the graded Morgan that I needed for my Philadelphia strike collection. It’s an 1899 PCGS MS63. My collection is PCGS MS64, but this is a first generation PCGS rattler holder. It’s really an MS64 coin. And will be when I send it back in.

Here are the 1985 Engelhard rounds I grabbed.

Here are some Route 66 rounds. Well they’re not exactly round.

There’s even more shiny to share. I brought along a grab bag of silver for each member to pick from. I had black velvet bags each containing atleast an ounce of silver. Each person got to chose one without opening them. Well I wasn’t the only one who had that idea. @summertooth and @enginewitty did as well….

Here is what they dropped on us….

I can’t say enough about how good of a time it was. What a great group of people. You know who you are….
