2021 Australian Silver Kangaroo
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, in particular the women of the Ladies of Hive community!
Let me to introduce you (or give you a review, as some of you are stackers already) to the art of Silver Stacking as a way to save money!
For the longest time, precious metals like gold and silver were the base of all monetary system. In other words, currency was valued in relation to gold and silver prices. With the end of the gold and silver standard in the 20th century, this is no longer the case. In other words, all forms of currency now that is issued by a central bank is not based on any form of commodity.
There are governments that issue bullion coins which will allow ordinary citizens like ourselves to own silver and gold, like the United States, Great Britain, Canada, China, Austria, Australia... to name a few. All we need to do is buy them!
Bullion Defined: Bullion is a physical precious metal in the form of a bar, coin, or round that is almost entirely valued by its precious metal melt value alone. SOURCE
Throughout the year I have featured different government issued bullion coins. See below. Every month, a buy a silver or gold coin or two as a means of saving for the future. They are also a good hedge against inflation.
Today, I want to show you a coin that is awfully popular because they traditionally sell very close to the bullion market prices which are centered around an average price for silver. This average bullion price is called a spot price.
2021 Australian Silver Kangaroo
The Australian Silver Kangaroo started their bullion coin series in 2015. This was struck at the Perth Mint, which was founded as a branch of the Royal Mint in London.
On the reverse of the Silver Kangaroo Coin is the red kangaroo with a ring of the rays of sunlight. In the edge of the coin are the words “AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO” and “2021 1oz 9999 SILVER”.
Elizabeth II is depicted in the obverse of the coin. And above the profile are the words “ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA” and the monetary denomination of “1 DOLLAR”
