WHAT??? No attack???

How one possibly go to battle with No Attack???

Yes, it is possible! And many battles have been won using monsters with No Attack

It is natural to first think that monsters with No Attack

Some may poo-poo Monstes with No Attack, like I did before.

It was not until I received the Failed Summoner that I realized how valuable to the team these Monsters with No Attack can be. Something just clicked in my brains... these monsters have special abilities and several Monsters with No Attack are like summoners!!!

MonsterAbilityWhat it can do
Warrior of PeaceDemoralizeReduces theMelee attack of all enemy Monsters, just like Summoners Crypt Mancer, Camila Sungazer, Zintar Mortalis
Truth SpeakerProtectAll friendly Monsters gain +2 armor. This Moster provides a higher buff than Summoners Tyrius Paladium and Drake of Arnak. It provides +2 armor, just one less than Summoner The Peakrider that gives +3 armor.
Undead PriestWeakenReduces the health of all enemy Monsters, just like Summoners Crypt Mancer, Plado Emnderstone,
Shadowy PresenceStrenghtenAll friendly Monsters have increased health, just like Summoners Archimage Arius, Prince Rennyn, Yodin Zaku, Valdamor, Lyanna Natura, Mother Khala
Maermaid HealerTriangeHeals the friendly back-line Monster that has taken the most damage.
Failed SummonerMagic ReflectWhen hit with Maguc damage, does reduced Magic damage back to attacker.
AlbatrosslFlyingHas and increased chance to evale Melee and Range attack from enemy monsters without the flying ability.
Gelainous CubeScanvenger & HealGains Max 1 health each time a Monster dies. Restores a portion of the MOnster's health each round.
Except for the Peaceful Giant, all Monsters with No Attack have Abilities. [Shadowy Presence will have the Strengthen ability at Level 3.]

These are ALL (I think) the Monsters with No Attack in Splinterlands:

1. I have 9 Monsters in my team with No Attack.

2. I don't have these two powerful Monsters with No Attack in my team... yet. Anyone is welcome to gift me any of the two Monster in my wish list.๐Ÿคฃ

3. The next Monsters below have No Attack until they are leveled-up to 3, upon which they gain Melee Attacks.

Okay, here we go!

I have two battles to share with you using different Spinters, but the same Tank-

A Monster with No Attack:

GELATINOUS CUBE.

BATTLE No. 1

Ruleset- Weak Magic/Keep Your Distance; Mana Cap- 40

BATTLE No. 2

Ruleset- Close Range/Keep Your Distance; Mana Cap- 44

General Strategy

The general strategy in all battles (and therefore the choice of Monsters for my line up is of course) based on the (1)Battle Ruleset and Mana cap, and (2) the Abilities of the Monsters. As always and to the greatest extent possible, I want to utilize Monsters with offensive abilities available in my Splinter teams.

In general, I would have fielded Monsters with the Snipe and Sneak abilities in back-line positions. Unfortunately, the few Magic attack and Range attack Monsters that I have that I chose for the line-up did not have these two important abilities.

In both battles 1 & 2, the Rule Keep Your Distance eliminates the use of any Melee Attack Monster. My LINEUP for both battles is shown in the GIF BANNER PHOTOS for each Battle.

  • In both battles, one could use a strong Magic attack Monster in the first position. In Battle No.2, one could use either a strong Magic attack OR Range attack Monster in the first position.
  • However, it is my personal experience that I can have much success winning battles using the GELATINOUS CUBE in the first position for the Ruleset Keep Your Distance, especially when I utilize the Summoner Daria because she can summon the Heal ability of my Gelatinous Cube.
  • This is best illustrated in Battle No. 1. Note that in Battle No.1, the battle lineup of both teams are almost the same. The choice of Tank made the difference. I used Gelatinous Cube in the first position, which resulted to my winning this battle, without losing a single Monster.
  • In Battle No. 2, I used Summoner Lyanna because I was in the process of completing an Earth Splinter Daily Quest.
  • In the Keep Your Distance battle rule, it is ideal to fill the first 3 or 4positions with Magic attack and the last positions with Range attack Monsters. One may even use Magic attack Monsters on all positions to ensure that all Monsters will be able to attack from the first position as they move up in the battle. I have lost battles because the last Monster in my team could not deliver a deliver its Range attack.
  • In Close Range battle rulesets, as in Battle No. 2, a Range Monster can function in the first position. But in the case of this particular battle, none of the back-line Monsters had to move up because I won the battle without losing the original tank and any of the Monsters.

The GELATINOUS CUBE is my first choice No Attack Monster in the first position because of its Scavenger and Heal abilities, and also because it is a Neutral Monster which can be used with any Splinter whereas the other No Attack Monsters in my team are specific to their Splinters. Speaking about Splinters, the great Tank in the lineup using the Life Splinter is Warrior of Peace because of its Demoralize ability, and its high health which may last him 2 rounds of battle.

BTW, every time an opponent team has Lord Arianthus in the first position, my team almost always loses the battle! I really want to someday have that No Attack MOnster in my team.

There you have it Splinterlands! I hope you enjoyed the battles above! The strategy worked and I won both battles!๐Ÿ’ช ๐Ÿ’ช ๐Ÿ’ช ๐Ÿ’ช ๐Ÿ’ช
